Despite being quite expensive, these are not ANC headsets like the Bose QC35ii. I knew this when buying it and so my review is realistic. This is a product with a purpose different from others out there. I tried the Bose QC35ii and absolutely loved them. They were ultra comfortable, portable, great battery life, effective ANC. BUT they did not have a boom mic for video conferencing. Therefore I returned them and hunted for the following: 1. Boom mic for people to hear me in noisy environments 2. Dedicated mute button 3. Bluetooth wireless so I can walk around and not be tethered to laptop (make coffee while at home) 4. Sound decent for music when not on calls I tried gaming headsets (most have wifi dongle I didnt like dealing with), noise canceling headsets for traveling, true wireless earbuds, etc. Eventually I realized I wasn't going to get an all-in-one product. A rep at BB showed me this blueparrot headset and said his Truckers love it for long drives and talking/listening. It isn't AS comfortable as the Bose, but it is up there in comfort. The mic is phenomenal, people have said they hear me perfect even when there is noise in a coffee shop or at home with my kids running around. The mute button on the headset has saved me from embarrassing situations when sudden noise presents itself at home. Overall great product. I wish the bluetooth connection was better (it gets choppy when I get 15ft away (not the advertised 30). And lately I have noticed the audio seems to downsample but that might just be the app I am using to listen.

Even Better Than My Previous B350-XT!

I got a B350-XT three years ago. I loved the noise cancelling boom mic and the light weight which made it comfortable. But it started to have problems staying synched after a few hours of use. In the electronics world, you got your money's worth if a cell phone or digital camera gave you three years of reliable service. I decided to get a replacement Bluetooth headset. I found out BlueParrott came out with the 450-XT last year. I decided to try it. Needless to say, BlueParrott was able to come out with a product even better than the B350-XT! I mostly do work on my laptop watching webinars, doing teleconferences, and making phone calls using my smart phone. I decided to get the S450-XT which has two ear pieces. It is a little bulkier and heavier than the B450-XT which is a one piece headphone. But I find it hard to watch webinars or YouTube videos when I can only hear from one ear. The sound is a significant improvement over my last B350-XT headset. There is a deep bottom end like my Bose over ear noise cancelling headsets (but at half the price). It is much more pleasant to participate in teleconferences, watch videos, or have a phone conversation. The people on the other end of the line are amazed that I am driving my car or in a busy internet café. They can't hear any background noise at all. I like the sliding ON/OFF switch better than the previous PUSH AND HOLD style switch. I use my headset for maybe one hour at a time. It is very comfortable for me. Other people said it squeezes their head. Maybe they just have an oversize head... I highly recommend the S450-XT. It is a perfect fit for what I do.

    Overpriced communication headset

Too flimsy for the price: -1 star. Too pricey for the mediocre music performance and charging cable that's way too short: -1 star. Headband isn't padded sufficiently and actually starts hurting after an hour or two. Bluetooth range is no better than typical Bluetooth headphones (~30-40ft). The Bluetooth range is way exaggerated and no one uses professional, costly equipment. -1 star. When using as a communication headset, voice sound is really good, although the mic is useless unless extended (hard plastic, not flexible in this model) and there's a very good chance for accidental breakage--it folds away in a very specific manner and if you stray from that manner, you may break it. I'd like to take away another star, but then the product would be entirely worthless. You fail, VXi. Considering your experience in communication headsets, you drop the ball here. Unable to recommend this due to the aforementioned issues (even with a really good voice performance).

    Great but some tech "misses"

First off the sound quality is great. Second I think most people love this because of Stereo sound PLUS effective noise cancellation for calling from a loud location. I haven't really tested THAT aspect but trust that is a lot of the high ratings. Three issues I've had include: Maintaining connections with a list of devices. It can handle two at a time which is nice, but if more than that number of devices have been paired it can cause strange and irritating interruptions. A software issue and apparently a firmware update is hard to do from a Mac or iPhone (as of today). Also sound can cut out when my head moves, not always but often enough. Could it be the phone? I don't think so but... Final item, it could be more comfortable and secure. In combination with glasses my ears hurt after extended use yet, they can also slip out of place. Not for working out I'm guessing. I think I'm pushing the device technically and it may be perfectly stable and comfortable for others. It does do GREAT quality audio and I believe it's also usually clear for the person listening to me as well.

I bought these instead of better-rated Plantronics because they were over-ear. If you are a child, maybe they fit. The earcups are very small. Paired them with my phone, no problem. But I really bought them for the office. Paired them with my Win7 laptop, it took a long time for them to find each other. And yes, they were finally paired. But they don't show up as a useable device for anything. I want to use them with Skype for Business (don't tell me to use another service, it was not my choice, I'm bound by corporate IT policy). And once you turn the power off they don't pair any more. You have to start the pairing process over every time you turn the power on. My next review will be of the Best Buy return policy.

I lost my B250 and bought the B450 mossy oak but couldn't mute the music, they sounded good but I returned them to Love's and switched to the S450 and after a couple of days I hardly take them off, I bought the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless at Best Buy but people can't understand me while I'm driving but with these Blue parrot S450 they are perfect, decent sounding music plus now I don't have to switch Bluetooths just use these all the time. Some say they're illegal in some states but that's if you cover both ears, just like the LG's with two earbuds but only use one, haven't tried those yet, they look too delicate. Highly recommend these S450 I believe everyone will get hooked on them.

I bought this for business use ( WebEx, Skype for Business, etc. ). Good battery life. Headband is a bit heavy and tight as others have said, but I’ve gotten used to it. Range lower than advertised, but ok for my needs. Glitches: occasionally, the initial connection to a meeting results in extremely distorted sound, and have to reconnect. Happens maybe 10-15% of the time. Cause unknown. My hardwired USB headset doesn’t have that issue. Also, if other OS and system sounds come in ( email and Skype alerts, etc. ), the Parrot sound and mike stops/pauses. Likely a matter of the hands free or headset profile , rather than a defect. Other headsets on Bluetooth may have this too, don’t know. Overall, I’m happy with it, and it’s a quality design.

For my lifestyle and the way I use my bluetooth devices, the headset with a boom mike is nearly a necessity. First, the good: for its price the build quality is very good. The headphones are comfortable and seem to hold their adjustment well. Now, for the bad: Even after charging overnight, it would not pair with my cell phone or tablet, nor with my son's phone. I took it back to Best Buy and the salesperson and I found it will not pair with about a third of the devises in the store. I am reluctantly going to give it a NO recommendation because of the pairing issue. If you do buy it and it pairs with your devices you won't be sorry to buy it. Just check it out before you leave the store.

I like the fact that this headset has Bluetooth as well as the fact that it allows me the ability to pair to multiple devices at the same time. I also like the range of the device which allows me to go into different rooms without loosing connectivity. The sound is crystal clear and it does a good job of blocking out background noise. One thing that I didn’t like is for some reason, when it is connected to two devices at the same time, I get a message telling me that the device is connected every five minutes or so. Not sure but could be because bother paired devices are on at the same time and may be a conflict.

Blue Parrot - Quality And Reliability

This is my second Blue Parrot head set. My first one lasted 4 years. It was the standard basic model. I decided to upgrade to a different brand that had two earphones instead of just one allowing me to listen with both ears. Those other brands were terrible and I had a lot of complaints from friends telling me they could not hear me. After about 6 months my friend told me about this NEW Blue Parrot headset that has two ear phones and allows you to listen to podcasts and music on my cell phone. I purchased it the next day and I am so happy I did. It works just as good as my older Blue Parrot with great reception and now I can hear in stereo. They are a bit big and bulky, but make up for it in reliability and quality.

This is a wonderful headphone, the sound quality is awesome, the padding on the earpiece is very comfortable for long wear, even when sweating, just swipe off and keep going. The quality of the call is very clear, even with the noise of a truck engine and the wind blowing. Better than higher costing headphones that work in most environments but not for trucks when it comes to noise canceling. The band broke because of misuse, I tapped it together and it’s still going well. Battery life is looooong, wear for two or more days without charging, it seems to go in standby mode when not being used. Not for those who have to wear a helmet.

At any given time, I am using 5 or 6 different Bluetooth headsets and have owned hundreds over the years. This is easily the best I have ever used for making calls in a noisy place, like the bus, train or train station. The other caller always thinks I am inside at a desk and I can hear everything well because it is loud and covers both ears. The only design flaw is that the ear cups are not really big enough to fit around the ears, which can lead to discomfort after long periods. Also, it is very durable and well made, which I think justifies the over 150 price tag.

I saw that these were over-the-ear, which is what I need because I wear behind-the-ear hearing aids. Well, the sound is great, BUT the ear cushions are too small, unless you are maybe 3 years old. I asked Blue Parrot if I could buy larger ear pieces, and they suggested the B450. It is obvious they do not understand what over-the-ear means for ear pieces, because the replacements were the same size. UGH! I guess I will have to find cushion replacements on Amazon.

The stereo headsets are very good, and comfortable. the sound quality is excellent. The ear pads are soft and comfortable. I actually wear my headset even when I am not talking or listening to music because they drown out a lot of the truck noise. I had the B350 for several years. They were great, no complaints, but eventually were unable to be charged. I tried the B450, no issues, but decided to spend a few more bucks and try the S450. Glad I did. Great headsets. Blue Parrot really had truckers in mind when they designed these. Rated #1 by truckers. Worth every penny.

This set sounds great. I have no complaints from people on the other end of the calls. The one issue I'm having is that when you start a call the volume is low for like the first 20-30 seconds and then you can hear fine. Do not turn up the volume during this time because when it straightens out you will blast your ears!! Still waiting on a response from Blue Parrot after sending them an email one month ago. I would've given 5 stars if it weren't for the low volume and their customer support.

I bought these so I could listen to music and answer phone calls. The set pairs OK both my phone and my PC. However, when it gets down to medium battery (or what it calls medium), the connection between the device(s) and the headset starts cutting out. Just now, it reached 24% battery (which it reported as low) and then started stopping and starting my music on both my PC and my phone. Other than that, they are OK quality (I am used to Bose).

I've tried several different bluetooth headsets to use with my company laptop, and this is by far the best. I liked the Logitech H800 as they were great for the price, but the Jabra headsets I wasn't too pleased with as it did not have an adjustable band and it kept dropping the connection. This headset is comfortable for long time uses and the audio is very clear. The range is good as well, as I frequently walk to other rooms while on a conference call.

I use these for conference calls and the clarity of others’ voices is amazing! The only issue I’ve had is the mute button is a bit hard to feel (it has a raised logo on it) and since it is located next to the call on/off button, I’ve accidnently cut myself out of the call a couple times. With practice, I’m getting used to where the mute button is located; it would be nice if it were easier to feel and not next to the call button.

The headphones are great. I use them for over the road trucking to be able to talk with friends and family easily while driving. The headset itself is comfortable and is great about reducing background noise. I did have to switch this out before 30 days as the first pair kept dropping the Bluetooth connection but the new pair is holding up just fine.

The manufacture went to a great deal of trouble to design recessed ear pieces that are suppose to allow for your ear. However, the size of the rectangle design might fit a child. The small design caused the ear pads to rest on my ears, not over them. Between that and the undo presser the headband places on the ears the headset was uncomfortable. I could only wear it for 45 minutes. I returned it after a couple of days.
