Could not program (and neither could Geek Squad)

The Bamboo Ink was on display with my exact model of laptop on the floor of Best Buy. I purchased the pen, having read the reviews that it was difficult to set up with Asus 2-in-1s, but (also from reading reviews) and since it was on display in the store I knew it had to be possible to configure. Nope. After myself, my boyfriend, and Geek Squads at TWO different Best Buy locations (which BOTH had my exact laptop on display with a Bamboo Ink pen demo set up) no one could figure out how to sync the pen to my laptop. If you clicked the button on the pen, the sticky note feature on Windows Ink would come up like it’s supposed to, but (even after trying every min option) it would not detect the pen to actually write. A manager even got involved and gave me a great customer service experience, saying he would take care of it, but he wasn’t able to do it either. He apologized and returned the item for me. Very disappointed — wasted a lot of time on this for nothing. Warning to any Asus owners, don’t bother trying.

Definitely worth it for Ink-enabled laptops

I use the stylus with my Asus Q534U laptop that has Windows Ink capabilities but didn't include any stylus. It's a terrific little pen, writing and sketching feel natural with it and the buttons are placed fairly well (Though they're easy to accidentally trigger when writing). I've used it in several of my college courses to take handwritten electronic notes and it is a lifesaver (No more loose papers and spiral notebooks!). I had no problem pairing the pen with my laptop and it automatically connects now when it is in proximity. I also like the location tracking feature included in the software that automatically records where the pen was last used in case it is misplaced (Though it had to first be enabled in the Windows settings). My only complaint with the pen is that it uses strange AAAA batteries which have had to be replaced every few months. They're easy to order online but it can be frustrating if the pen dies without a replacement battery.

I bought this pen after much deliberation and trial. I have a Windows 10 , 2 in 1 from HP and wanted to take advantage of the touch screen and tablet capabilities. This pen works well with Windows ink however I had some trouble getting it linked up. I’m guessing my phone and iPad were interfering with properly pairing via Bluetooth. I turned the Bluetooth off on both to pair the pen to my laptop and I have had no trouble since. (May not have been the issue). The shortcut button works well but has rare glitches. (apps not opening). The battery life is pretty good. I used it for about a week pretty heavily with the supplied battery before needing replacement. The AAAA batteries are not at regular stores and you will need to go to a Best Buy or specialty battery store. I would give this a 5 star rating if batteries lasted longer and were easier to buy. This pen will not work with Apple products.

Honestly, I didn't know this product existed until today. To my surprise this is a Wacom Active Stylus with 2046 levels of pressure sensitivity, meaning that all AES and MPP Windows devices are perfectly compatible. I purchase it for my Lenovo Thinkpad 14 and it worked perfectly out of the box; however, the user's manual recommends pairing your device with the stylus through Bluetooth. This active pen includes a set of three different nibs and one quadruple A battery. I'm really happy with this purchase and I recommend this pen to all the note takers and artists out there looking for an excellent stylus for their Windows tablets and 2 in 1's.

Wished it Clipped to my Surface Pro...

The only reason I gave the Wacom Pen a 4 Star rating is getting use to utilizing it properly on different applications can be frustrating, but worth the time to get it working correctly is well worth the price difference of the other Pens out there.. Plus, the Pen doesn't attach to my Surface Pro. So after a long time trying to figure out why my new 2018 Microsoft Pen's cursor kept displacing itself on contact I found out it was the way the pen handles tilt, which can cause trailing from the original point of contact to the tilt-corrected location with some programs such as Paint Tool SAI2. It took a little setting up to work with my Surface Pro 4 but it works wonderfully, I no longer have the displacing cursor issue. Upsides: Works great with Paint Tool SAI2 and is pretty good for drawing. Downsides: Doesn't clip to the device, takes a AAAA battery, not as pretty as the Microsoft Pen.

I bought this to go with my new HP Envy 2-in-1 (which frustratingly does not come with a stylus despite being Windows Ink-ready). I also own a Surface Pro and am familiar with styluses and find the Bamboo to be a far better stylus. The pen is slightly triangular which makes it a great fit in your fingers versus other styluses that are completely round. Switch mode buttons are located at your index finger (to erase, etc.). There is also a configurable top button that can launch any app configured (mine is set for OneNote). The stylus also comes with 3 different stylus tips (soft, medium, hard) ;so the feel against the screen is adjustable to your preference. Follow the instructions for pairing, including the need to switch its mode. It starts in AES mode, but to use with Windows Ink PCs you'll need it to be in Windows Ink mode. It's an excellent stylus for all Windows touch/Ink laptops. Great choice.

I bought this stylus to go with my lenovo yoga 730 ... this pen was displayed right beside it so I thought certainly it was compatible. I got it home..when I unboxed it I realized the top of the pen was off. I thought I could just snap it back on but it turns out I was wrong. So I brought it back and said I wanted to swap it out for another 1... then they tell me okay but you will have to pay 30 more dollars... I asked why & why told the stylus I had been sold was refurbished and was marked down. The sales guy who sold it 2 me didn't even tell me. I thought I had bought a new one. Well anyway I pay the money to get another stylus. Get it home and once again the thing doesn't work!! No light showing on the stylus or anything. So I took it back to best buy for a refund this time and after doing some research have decided to just buy a smart stylus made by Lenovo for half the price.

I purchased this item after reading all of these rave reviews online. I went into the store and purchased the item after seeing it on the displays. I was so excited. I tried to install it and after failing multiple times, and being perplexed because it was supposed to be so easy to do, I finally got on the phone with Wacom Tech Support (the mfgr). I was on hold for an hour before someone finally got on the phone, only to go through a ton of steps that failed and then tell me "Well, Mrs. Lee, this pen isn't really compatible with Windows Ink. We are having a lot of issues with the pens not linking to computers that have other smart pen technologies." Ummmm WHAT? It has the words "optimized for Windows Ink" written right on the package! Needless to say, this is going right back into the hands of Best Buy. Too bad I can't back charge them for the 3 hours of my life that was wasted on this piece of garbage.

Let me start by saying I tend to review and shop for the best price with the knowledge of exactly what I want. This laptop offered me more than I wanted at a very reasonable price. I saved an additional $200 when the laptop went on sale 2 weeks after purchase. I had no issues getting the credit for the difference. The laptop.... I’m impressed. Screen resolution and picture quality are incredible. The solid state hard drive allows for fast uploading of of temp memory. It’s like flipping a page in a book for web browsing. Handles all my streaming options from Sling TV, Netflix to Amazon Video. The touch screen is responsive and works very well with the Bamboo pen I purchased. Gaming... I’ve only played Civilization 5 with it and it performs very well. Better than I’ve ever experienced. I would expect issues and limitations with newer games and FPS... do your homework. This meets all my needs and is very versatile on many levels. Very happy.

I purchased this pen with a new Pixelbook. The Pixelbook pen was too expensive for what I was willing to pay. I ended up returning this pen since I returned my PB (found a better deal on another chromebook I was looking to buy). In the time that I used the pen it worked seamlessly with no lag on the PB. Doesn't support tilt function, but works with pressure sensitivity. The google assistant function works too. You have to press one of the buttons near the tip then circle/draw to activate the assistant function. The bluetooth button at the cap doesn't do anything since it was meant for other wacom devices. The pen comes with replaceable nibs, and a AAAA battery. Very stylish and has a metal clip. Would recommend for use with chromebooks that accept AES stylus.

    A piece of garbage

This pen is a complete piece of garbage. These pens are the rolaxes of the digital pen world. Due to a shortage in surface pens, i had to get this imitation instead. I tried to keep an open mind, but this piece of garbage left a skid mark under the low bar I set for it. From the get go it refused to pair or even appear on my surface pro, and while it would work as I write, it had this peculiar habit of drawing lines even while the nib was an inch away from the screen. Oh, speaking of pen nibs, the thing SQUEEKS whenever I write. If that wasn't enough, the thing died on me completely after 3 months of use. I still needed a pen because I'm a student, so I bought another one of these monstrosities, and guess what?? THE PEN DIDN'T EVEN WORK. Perhaps it was the battery, but I don't give a macaroon, I'm not spending extra money on a new battery. This is an overpriced product, and I can definitely see Wacom disappearing into obscurity. Garbage product.

Pros: -great battery life -design adds comfort and well built, w/ one exception (below) - smooth on screen Cons: - Top button breaks easily , at times does not respond. I know the top is meant t be used as a eraser, but this feature adds to it's weak design of the top. The quick option buttons are too sensitive. They are always opening apps w/o my wanting them to. -Stylus tip replacement is ridiculous. First off, it just gives you another small piece to potentially lose (wish stylus had a storage place of all laptops). The removal process for the tip may be more of a hazard than to be worth messing with this already fragile pen. -AAAA battery not as common as AA's but last long. Other than it's fragile state and sensitivity I really do like the stylus.

    Issues Connecting To Laptop

I have had a lot of issues with this stylus. When I purchased it I read the instructions carefully and followed what it said. The stylus still did not connect properly to my laptop. I did a lot of troubleshooting and the pen still did not work. I ended up exchanging it for a new one but even that one did not connect to my laptop. If you’re considering purchasing this stylus I would suggest looking at reviews to see if it works with your specific laptop. The laptop I own is the ASUS - 2-in-1 15.6" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop Intel Core i7 16GB Memory NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M - 2TB HDD + 512GB SSD. I am not sure why the stylus did not work with this laptop because in the store they had my model of laptop on display with this stylus connected to it. It was working in the store just fine.

This is a fantastic little device. There is a learning curve along with integrating it into your work flow. This is with anything new you have. So, this device uses AAAA (quad A) batteries. I was told that it would last approx. 1 year under normal uses. Don't let that stop you from buying this device. It comes with extra "nibs" for use with they type of screen you have. We had to change ours out to work properly with our screen. There are a lot of different types of screens and surfaces. You just need to match yours up. It connects via bluetooth. The button on the end selects different options. These options are customize-able with in windows settings. I assume it is the same within Apple products. There are also two buttons on the side to activate different functions. i.e. press and hold to erase.

I use this pen for notetaking in class and it does that job with no problems. It's easy to get used to and paring is novel if you follow the directions on Bamboo's website instead of the included manual instructions. The top of the stylus is not an eraser, instead, it's a button which triggers shortcuts that can be re-assigned in Windows 10 Pen and Ink settings. You can choose up to three shortcuts from doing a short press, double tap, and hold. It takes AAAA's and connects via Bluetooth. I was able to press the button to trigger shortcuts even when 10 or more feet away. Before purchasing the stylus double check that it is compatible with your device! It worked great with my ASUS Q535UD.

I would give this product 5 stars before it stopped working for my Asus 2-in-1 Q505UA. I had purchased it with my laptop last year (recommended to me) but after some time I discovered, while it would still connect via Bluetooth and the end button would work (bring up Windows Ink and Sticky Notes), it wouldn't draw/write anything on the screen. Compatibility list for reference: https://www.wacom.com/en-es/comp If I am reading this wrong please let me know. I believe it is already to late to return/exchange, so now, I have to find a replacement. I only "recommend to a friend" if they have the right compatible device. It is sturdy and sleek and pairs great to Bluetooth.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and at first she didnt think she was going to use it, or maybe just for doodling or something. Instead she found she couldn't live without it!! She uses it daily in ever facet of her college life PLUS has gotten really into drawing/etc which she never really did before. I would have taken a star away for one element - wear and tear - because the nibs actually started falling out. However I kept this five starts because I reached out to Wacom and because the unit was still under warranty they had a new one in the mail in just a couple days from me sending proof of purchase!! I showed so much interest in everything with this pen that my daughter ended up buying me one for my birthday this week!!!

Finally An Active Stylus for the Rest of Us!

needed a replacement pen for my Spectre x360 13" 2017 kaby lake. The HP active stylus pen did NOT work. Their tech people gave conflicting views. That pen had 256 levels of pressure- IF it had worked. Enter the Bamboo Ink stylus. As guided, you press both buttons for two seconds and the pen works. Flawlessly. For it to fully utilize the MS Ink ecosystem, pair it to bluetooth- exactly as described. I can't tell you how wonderful it is using a pen that WORKS and works well. Highly recommended. Well done Wacom. Stay away from ANYTHING HP recommends for the Spectre.

The pen works very well with regards to it's function. You set the pen to the protocol your device uses, and have the option of pairing via bluetooth to enable the top button which has customizable options. The issue is the build quality of the pen. It has a good weight and appeared sturdy at first, but through a few months of usage, the top of the pen, the button responsible for varying functions, just popped right off and was lost. Underneath the button, were foam pieces that provided the method for the button to return to the normal position after being depressed, and those fell off following the button's disappearance as well. This was not the result of abuse or accidental damage, and if you don't register the device for the warranty within a certain time frame of purchase, Wacom doesn't honor it.

Bamboo Ink pen was told to me by the sales person at Best Buy that it would be compatible with My Dell Inspiron 13. The computer says that it supports Active Pen. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the Bamboo Ink pen. The computer accepted the pen but would not use the function of opening sticky note, windows ink workspace, nor screen sketch. I thought the pen may be a defect. I took the pen back, and got a replacement. The same thing happened. It worked, and then suddenly stopped. I tried resetting the program and resetting my computer. But the pen would not functionally open the apps. Don't use this product for windows. I was super excited to use this pen to super disappointed.
