Good tool, but relatively poor build quality

The pen works very well with regards to it's function. You set the pen to the protocol your device uses, and have the option of pairing via bluetooth to enable the top button which has customizable options. The issue is the build quality of the pen. It has a good weight and appeared sturdy at first, but through a few months of usage, the top of the pen, the button responsible for varying functions, just popped right off and was lost. Underneath the button, were foam pieces that provided the method for the button to return to the normal position after being depressed, and those fell off following the button's disappearance as well. This was not the result of abuse or accidental damage, and if you don't register the device for the warranty within a certain time frame of purchase, Wacom doesn't honor it.

The stylus has a good build quality, good hand feel, and decent design. The triangle shape feels good in the hand and the 4 different tips feel good on any screen I've encountered. The Build quality gets a B- from me because the soft touch paint on the outside is already coming off, 1 month after purchase, and the battery holder screws in at the top and is impossible to put on without feeling like I am taring up the guts of the stylus. The design is OK but I wish the eraser was at the top of the pen like on the surface pens. I can definitely say that the side button eraser is easy to get used to but i find myself spinning the stylus around in my hand looking for it when i really need it or not pushing hard enough or pushing the lower button and selecting rather than erasing. Overall I give it a B.

I hadn't read any reviews previous to buying the computer which also included the purchase of the pen. I am attending college this year and the idea of being able to turn my laptop into a tablet and use this pen to help take notes is what brought me to want to purchase this laptop. Then pen is easy to get connected to my computer. The problem I had was getting the pen to actually write on the screen. All the other functions worked. When I took it to Geek Squad they weren't very helpful and just told me they've had other people with the same problem as me. Basically they said I could just return it or call the company. Not to thrilled with the Geek Squad's service. My boyfriend was able to fix my pen and now it works really well. It is easy to write with and is like a pencil to paper. Overall, if your pen works then it is really great.

Buy this only if your device appears on compatible devices list. I was told by Best Buy associate that this is a universal pen and that it works across most devices. Wrong! It works only with few select devices. Aside from the compatibility issues, the product seemed awkward. The Bluetooth scanning was very inconsistent. At times it would scan for just 5 seconds and at other times it would scan longer. The scan light is placed right under your thumb where you can't see it. The pen feels cheap in your hand. It's like holding a cheap plastic disposable pen. the controls for changing mode does not give solid feedback.

    Great, but expensive

Even at "Black Friday" pricing, the Bamboo Ink stylus is pretty expensive for what it is. It does, however, work great with my daughter's Lenovo laptop, and she is able to more easily just write notes and formulas for her college science classes, as well as use it for general doodling and other fun activities. Most negative reviews are about price, or because someone bought this and it didn't work with their laptop or tablet (because they didn't check compatibility first). I agree with the premium price, but the compatibility issues fall on the consumer for not checking first. You wouldn't by a cell phone case for your phone without making sure that it was compatible. You wouldn't buy tires for your car without knowing that they are the right ones. Why would technology be any different?

After using the pen for a week I find that I like it better than the pen that came with my Surface Pro 4. Out of the box it synced without my intervention which was a pleasant surprise. I use it mainly for hand written notes and highlighting articles. It's very comfortable to hold and the slightly triangular shape makes it easy to keep the buttons in easy reach. The only things I'd like to see changed are the top button and the overall length. The top button has a very short movement and not much of a click, you really have to be paying attention to feel it. It can be difficult to feel if you've clicked it or not. The overall length is just a small problem (pun intended). It is slightly too long to fit properly in my UAG case pen holder though it is still held securely..

The only reason I bought this pen was because there was a special going on when I bought my touchscreen laptop. It actually is pretty cool, but the button on top which opens up Windows Ink Workspace is a little too sensitive. I really don't use this feature, however I use the pen a lot to avoid fingerprint marks on my screen. I can't say I'd spend the money for it if I had to pay full price, but for someone who uses it to draw or take handwritten notes or something, it might be more useful to them. Overall, it's not bad but I think this is too expensive for someone using it for the purposes that I do. I am marking that I would recommend this pen, but again only if you have more uses than just to avoid touching your screen.

I almost did not get this pen based on some reviews; however, I decided to go for it and was happy I did. I purchased the pen with the HP ENVY x360 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop and it works perfectly! I was able to sync and go, no extra drivers required. I played around with it for a good hour or so last night, using it as a pen and somewhat like a mouse as well. It was great! I did not experience any lag. I demoted it 1 start because of the fact that it runs on a AAA battery. I feel like in today's more tech-driven markets that this device should be rechargeable and not run on a battery at its price point.

I bought this stylus when I bought a new laptop that had the windows ink feature. After playing with windows ink and the stylus in store I knew I needed to have it. As a student, this has made taking notes so much easier. I can send the print out to onenote, then I will use the stylus to annotate. This is especially good if you need to draw figures, which is much harder to do with a regular laptop or even just a touchscreen. I might have to change the battery every 3-4 months with heavy use (hours a day). Other things I like about using this is that I can choose to have my handwriting converted to typed. The shortcuts by clicking the top are great too.

This pen is only compatible with laptops/computers with Windows Ink which is kind of a letdown because some laptops/computers (old or new) just don't have it. Its simple to turn on (press the top button to turn on and open Windows Ink on your device) but there are times when the pen doesn't open Windows Ink which is frustrating. It does work on other applications on your computer or laptop. So, for example if you have Adobe Photoshop and you wanted to draw using the pen you would have no problems. Overall the pen works for more than just Windows Ink but the fact that your laptop/computer needs Windows Ink in order for the pen to even be used is a big letdown.

    Compatability Issues

The only issue I ran into was that the Bamboo Ink pen wasn't COMPATIBLE with my device. Though it looks nice, I'll never know how well it works. Even though customer support and the manual said that my device was compatible it didn't work when I tried it out. My device didn't have a WINDOWS INK COMPATIBILITY STICKER, that must be why it didn't work. The buttons on the pen worked, but when using the pen tip it DID NOT WORK on my touch screen laptop. They might tell you that all Windows 10 devices are Windows Ink compatible, but don't chance it and only purchase the pen if your device has a Windows Ink compatible sticker. Planning on returning my Bamboo Ink pen.

i received this a few week before christmas. i set it up and tried it out and it worked great then i packed everything up to be wrapped for christmas presents. fast forward a few weeks later. i take it out after christmas and go to use it and it doesn't work. i'm assuming the battery has died and will try a new battery in it tomorrow when i get that in mail. the website says it's supposed to turn off after so many minutes of inactivity and the battery life should be 2-5 months based on usage. according to these statements there is no way my battery should have died sitting inactive for a couple weeks in the box.

I really enjoyed the flow of the stylus and how it relates to a real pencil or Pen including the diffrent nibs to it.I enjoyed the clip on it so i could easily place it on diffrent places.Although i gave it four stars was not because of the quality but from the nibs, since there were no slimmer nibs to make it feel like a sharp yet slimmer feel but i do still enjoy the other choices of nib.I also really disliked haveing to take out the batterys everytime i finished using it since the first time they were left in and the battery had died out,so we bought a pack of two batterys but supriseling costed a lot more that a pack of other batterys.I hope there will be many more features in the future! Thank you

This pen works great, if you can get it to work. I have had many many issues getting it to work or connect or not break. Pros: writes pretty smoothly and generally connects pretty easily Cons: Top button becomes damaged very easily Battery life is abysmal especially for a battery like an AAAA which is not the easiest to find. There are next to no instructions on how to use/ pair/ connect the thing, everything i've found is through extensive googling After about a year my pen just wont connect anymore and is unusable, meaning I will have to buy a new one. A one year lifetime seems a bit short for a $70 pen to me.

a little difficult to get connected to my dell i7373 windows ink enabled pc at first. had to change the mode the pen was in out of the box. works great and feel better knowing it's from a reputable company when it comes to smart pens and similar products. only minor complaint is it's hard to know where the side buttons are when I need to erase something without actually looking at the pen and rotating it in my hand. wish more smart pens were like the surface pen and had eraser on other end of it but aside from that its probly one of the best smart pens money can buy. if u catch on sale definately snatch one up u wont regret it

I have to go to training once a year for my job and I always take notes in a notebook and then type the notes to have them in my laptop. With this Bamboo pen, I can write directly in my laptop and then transfer the notes to typed text. The pen works great. The only reason for the 4 star and not 5 star, is the pen takes a 4A battery, and at the time the pen needed a new battery, Best Buy didn’t carry those batteries. Why would you sell a product and you don’t carry replacement batteries for the product you’re selling? Had to find a specialty battery store when I was traveling for one of my training events.

Wacom has not disappointed with this pen! I love the added functionality it gives to my laptop (HP Envy x360). I love using it for taking notes at work, marking up photos, etc. The pen makes my interaction with my PC so much more fluid and natural. The pen supports all modes of the Windows Ink feature and I employ them all, it's fun to use! There are other, cheaper pens, that aren't as featured as this one so I'm glad I got this one! I would highly recommend it!!

    Check Compatibility!

Check - and double check - compatibility before purchasing. My HP Envy x360 2 in 1 Convertible is listed in the compatible devices so I purchased with high hopes of actually using it for it's intended purpose of artwork. After 3 days of trying to troubleshoot I have found that only a handful of HP computers support Bamboo stylus despite the claim. Giving a fair rating of 3 simply because the only feature I could get to work is the clicks. The pen itself is completely ignored by my screen no matter the drivers or settings. So don't go by what the salesperson or even the Bamboo site tell you, dig really deep before investing in this pen & find out if your manufacturer supports it first.

Wacom has been making digital pens long enough to do better than this. I used to love Wacom, but they've been disappointing recently. The side buttons are hard to push, so you can't steadily double or right click anything -- not good as a mouse. It works with the touch-sensitive screen, so you can't touch (steady) your hand on the screen and use the pen -- not good as a drawing tool. And the eraser end can't work as an eraser. (My other disappointment with Wacom? I have two of their pen pads that work fine on old computers, but not new ones. Why? Because Wacom won't update their software!)

The picture quality on this television is very good for one this size. My only compliant is that the sound is a little thin (though quite loud if needed). I'm using it as a computer monitor as well as using the smart functions to watch Netflix and Amazon. The smart functionality works well, and even though there isn't a native YouTube app, using the Smartcast function to cast from my phone has been easy. It works very well as a computer monitor and actually costs less than dedicated computer monitors with the same functions while offering features that monitors typically don't have. Definitely recommend, especially if you have other speakers you can use.
