Just what you need in a starter tablet

First of all, make sure you get the Bluetooth version if that's what you want. The only distinguishing feature on the package is a Bluetooth logo in the lower left of the package top. Not seeing the difference between the BT and non-BT versions, I accidentally bought the non-BT. It worked fine, except that I had to use the cable. Best Buy was nice in letting me exchange for the one I wanted. Now if you want to use it with your desktop, you also need Bluetooth on your desktop. I installed a USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. In theory you just plug it in and it works, but I wish you good luck. You can check my review of the Insignia dongle, which is pretty mixed. The tablet install instructions were pictorial, and not intuitive. But after pushing the button one last time, it sprang to life. It seems to do everything you can do with Windows Ink, including drawing lines of various density depending you the pressure you apply. It's very convenient and, after a little practice, quite useful. Five stars if the install were better. I managed to register it on Ubuntu Linux, but haven't gotten it to do anything yet. Perhaps I need Linux Ink? It's a very cool product and the price is reasonable. If applications catch up to it, then it will be very useful. Like if I could draw in Word, or handwrite or character-recognise in some non-contrived fashion. Anyway, you need one. The small version is fine for me.

Having tooled around with it's larger chinese Huion counterpart for several years I finally bit the bullet of the wacom price increase and picked this up namely because I was tired of replacing pen batteries and for the free software bundle. While the surface work area is considerably smaller than what Im accustomed to with the huion, this tablet is great. I do prefer the smooth work area of the huion however, but so far this tablet has already given me far fewer compatibility headaches in various softwares. The dpi seems to scale well, the work surface is a bit rough for my taste, but does help prevent any slips that would have occured on my huion while sketching or drawing a precise line. The hotkeys actually work as intended and having a battery free pen is a lifesaver. The pressure sensitivity seems to work well, though as with any pen you will need to fine tune it to your respective program, whether it be with the wacom software or curves within your program. Overall I would buy this product again, though I'd probably go up to medium size as I use mine for art and not photo retouching like many who purchase this small tablet. Another great product from Wacom, and the bundled art software helps justify the price if you're in search of a comprehensive painting/illustration program that'll likely cost you an arm and a leg.

Express Keys don't work on Mojave

Beware Mac users. Express keys do not work on Mojave. And it's a frustrating, time-consuming experience trying to get help from customer support. Simple answers are not provided. Wacom needs to create a new driver/firmware to correct this problem. Apple released Mojave on September 24, 2018. Why is Wacom delaying the fix for the Intuos? Also, before buying this Intuos Small, I purchased the Intuos Pro Small and returned it after the CD rejected driver installation because it said it would not work on software prior to 10.6 and my operating systems are 10.12 on MacBook and 10.14 on iMac. Also, the small Pro has a battery while the medium and large models do not. So, given the battery and message from CD rom, Wacom is selling 5-year old models to unsuspecting customers who believe they’re buying new technology. Why would Wacom upgrade medium and large, but not small? I believe I know why. Do you?

Tablet is great but Pen feels cheap

After trying multiple more expensive Wacom Tablets I finally settled on one I will be using for a significant amount of time. The surface is smooth and the pressure sensitivity is highly responsive for the Photoshop work that I do. Although there are larger more expensive Wacom tablets I appreciate the smooth finish on this cheaper model. The more expensive models have a rough finish that cause significant drag on the pen’s nib that interferes with allowing me to create smooth paths and make smooth strokes. The only downside to this tablet vs the more expensive ones is how cheap the pen feels. It feels largely hollow and it is a hassle to pick it up from the indent vs how convenient it was to pick it up from the pen holder the other tablets came with. Overall I would recommend this product it’s just a shame that the pen feels so cheap.

I have a degree in Digital Arts & Design and have had a lot of experience with various tablets. My 10 year old daughter has recently gotten into drawing very heavily and she wanted to start experimenting with digital art. I decided to go with this smaller Wacom for her first drawing tablet. We have had this for a few months now and she absolutely loves it. Do not worry if you do not have a program such as Photoshop or Illustrator. This tablet comes with a program that can allow you to get started. I would recommend this for anyone looking to explore the digital drawing realm or who has kids who would like to move into this space. Has been a great purchase for us.

I have been wanting to buy one of these for years, and finally decided to take the plunge. I have not been disappointed! Great for taking notes, drawing, and mouse manipulation, this tablet allows me to connect more intimately with my computer. The only issue that I have is that the mouse positioning is a bit difficult to learn, but I believe that mostly to be attributed to my small desk area. I would like to get a larger pad next time, as the small size does hurt my hands when writing. However, for the price and for the functionality I have gained, it is certainly a worthwhile purchase.

Just got this today, and I'm blown away by the quality. The pen tracking is extremely precise and fluid. It's pretty awesome that the pen doesn't require batteries, and that it can still detect it when it's still about a centimeter away from the tablet itself!! The only semi-negative part of my experience with this so far is the free software that comes with it. It gives you the choice between an art program and a photo editing program. Unfortunately both lack premium features, leaving you with a more barebones experience. Not a big deal though, there are plenty of full-featured art programs out there that don't cost a thing. Overall though, very happy with my purchase!

This would be my second Wacom tablet and I bought it because my previous one started acting up. Unfortunately I am still experiencing the same issues. I missed the return window, so I’ve tried this sporadically over the past few months and nothing has changed. Instead of it acting as a tablet, it behaves more like a mouse where I have to nudge the arrow around my screen. I know this can happen if you plug and play, but I did install the driver and updates. Also, some of the other functions don’t operate when the buttons are pressed, such as the right or left click action that I’ve assigned to the pen. I know this could be a good product because I’ve used one for years and went to replace it with another, but I am more than frustrated and I know I can’t be the only one.

I used to have a Wacom bamboo, I think I lost it somewhere along the way, but I started drawing again after a very long hiatus, and decided to get a new tablet. Even though this tablet is small, it’s more than enough for most digital artwork, unless you prefer working with larger gestures. The pen nib can be swapped out for different drawing sensations (ie a rougher surface feel if that’s what you typically work with). My only complaint is the position of the buttons on the pen. I accidentally push them a lot and have to ctrl z whatever i just did. Overall, it’s a great tablet with pressure sensitivity without a huge price tag.

I have run into no problems at all with this tablet. It was easy to set up, works great, and is easy to use. The reviews that talk about pressure, it is a setting you can turn on and off, and is simple to do with a click of a button. I use this daily and relentlessly, as I am a professional illustrator and I have never once had a problem in the three months I have been using it.

I'm an artist, and bought this tablet about a month ago. I'm still getting used to its features, but overall it does what I want it to do. My only complaint, is that it was not designed with left-handed people in mind. Because of the way I hold my pen, I have to either adjust my grip or press a bit harder for the tablet to respond. This is a bit annoying. Especially, when I'm trying to do fine details. Other than that, I'm happy with the tablet, thus far.

I bought this tablet to start my digital art hobby. Before, I've used a mouse to do artwork, which is really difficult. Using this wacom tablet really made me feel faster and more confident on drawing lines. And you know how a bunch of artists reccomend wacom. It's basically like the Apple of the drawing tablet world. So I went ahead and got this cheap one compared to the $300+ types they usually have in their website. I really recommend using this as your first drawing tablet.

Overall this was a good product, and I would have given it 5 stars but I feel the pen was too small in thickness, and is too light weight giving it a less than desired tactile feeling. Maybe it was just my preference; I do have medium to large hands. Anyhow, this product might be perfect for the beginner who wants to watch a budget. Note: If you want to go all out and budget is no problem, I hear the large tablet with the touch screen is ideal.

This product does exactly what it claim to. It is easy to connect to the computer and was not hard to get up and running at all. I was a bit disappointed with this item as it is very hard to place the cursor where you want it on the screen. It is also difficult to get the pressure you want and have it be consistent. I'm sure the more expensive versions are better but couldn't say for sure. I'm going to stick to pencil and paper for now but I'm sure with some practice, this would get easier to use.

    Nice Tablet, AWFUL COREL SOFTWARE

Tablet is a nice size for my 10 year-old, and works nicely. The bundled Corel Painter Essentials 6 software, however, has be a royal pain. It refused to be activated - keeps insisting the serial number (provided by Wacom upon registration) is invalid. Contacted Corel support, and have not heard back in 2 weeks after they supposedly "escalated" it to L2 support. Totally ruins the good experience from the tablet itself. Will be returning this if I don't get a working solution shortly.

I got this on Black Friday because I always wanted it but was just nervous if I was going to use it. After I bought it and set it it with the software which is pretty straight forward I loved it. The feet it has to keep it secure helps and it's pen comes with replaceable tips. Which is a nice touch. A bit of a learning curve but if you can get it for a good price id suggest jumping at the chance

Solid Introduction to Drawing on a Tablet

Got this for my girlfriend because she was interested in digital drawing. This is a pretty nifty little tablet for the price! Of course, it takes a lot of practice, but after about 2 hours of playing with it, she drew a super cute picture of Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle! I even used it myself to design a logo and found it easy to grasp. If not easier than drawing with an actual pen!

I would recommend this tablet to anyone who loves to draw, into film making or is into edditing photos. I do wish the software was available. The download site does not have the advertised software. I did find other software, but it may be challenging for anyone not used to finding software on the internet. Over all I do give this a 5 star perfect rating

I can say that wacom lives up to it name with the quality of this product. The pen sensitivity and pen feel is on another level when compared to their competitors, Though I do have my issues. The pen nibs are easily broken, which is a problem I haven't experienced before using a wacom tablet. Second, is the size of the product. It can be uncomfortable on the wrist and makes thing difficult.

I had an older model of this tablet. and while I am use to it, i also bought a new laptop that is not at all compatible with it, unfortunately. I am glad i bought this one, since it works smoothly with my laptop. i mainly use this tablet for photo editing in photoshop, and some light drawing as well. accurate precision, and the overall form factor is comfortable to hold and use.
