Story Good - Open World Bad - Driving Ugly

I'll start with the good. The story line is well done. I found each main mission and side quest fun and engaging. The story was easy to follow despite it being based on complicated schemes by major corporations and governments layered with the hackers' attempts to set things right. There are multiple ways to complete a mission. Sometimes I felt like sneaking around to complete something. Other times I just went in guns blazing. I could even do a mix of the two. I never got bored each time I had to hack something tucked away deep in a heavily guarded facility. I could go on about how great the story is, but I don't want to spoil anything. The bad is the open world. It's set in San Francisco. But, it feels more like the farming town I live in! There isn't much to do outside of missions. The spoof of Uber is fun for a little while. The prompts to reach sight seeing points of interest were ok. But, the world looks a little bland so sight seeing isn't that exciting. The NPCs are infuriating. They often blocked doorways without moving despite "running" into them. Several times I tried getting away from the police by running into a hideout only to be thwarted by a group on non-responsive people clustered in the doorway. Even worse is police cars driving on the wrong side of the road. If you just ever so slightly graze a police car, the heat is on (Kenny Loggins). How can you avoid a police car when one is suddenly in your lane heading right towards you at high speed? Oh, and for some reason people assume you are going to hit them with your car even though you are driving slow and in your lane. So, they jump out of the way. The problem is they often times jump the wrong way and end up in front of my car. They are dead and the heat is on - again for something ridiculous and outside my control. The ugly is driving. The vehicles don't seem to be in contact with the ground. It feels and looks like driving on ice. This leads to very bizarre animations and wonky control. The worst is the vehicle engine sounds. OMG whoever thought these engine noises sound right must drive a beat up Chevy Nova with no muffler. It's terrible! And there is no way to lower sound effects volume! I cringe every time I get into a car. At least the motorcycles sound somewhat normal. Seriously, Ubisoft needs to risk reverse engineering open world mechanics from Rockstar. Despite the bland open world and terrible driving experience, I consider this a good game because of how strong the story is. It's definitely worth the ride even if the cars are not.

It's hard to put into words how much more improved Watch Dogs 2 is next to the original game. Like most people, I hated the first game and I almost completely skipped Watch Dogs 2 because of it. I have to say, I am really glad I didn't. This game is the polar opposite to the first one. First of all, the main protagonist in the game is a lot more interesting and upbeat versus Aiden Pierce in the first game. There is LOTS of humor in this game, but still some serious moments where it is appropriately leveled out. Tons of really fun and interesting missions, with a huge array of side content, so there's never really a dull moment during the gameplay experience. Not only that, but the variety of the missions are great as well. The game never felt boring or repetitive the entire time I was playing it. The game being set in San Francisco adds much more excitement with all the cool scenery. The game includes tons of upbeat music and even some cool interactions between civilians on the street. The story was amazing, with the right pacing and tone. It didn't feel rushed at the end like some games do. I also love the fact that you have a remote control car and drone to use. You can use these items to mark enemies, go through vents to get to areas you wouldn't be able to access normally, and even use them to hack certain items. There are so many cool details in this game, it's hard to name them all here. Overall, Ubisoft did a really amazing job with this one, and I couldn't of had more fun playing it.

I'm getting old - so i can't relate to skinny jean wearing , back flipping, weird music and so forth... so pardon me for not being able to really relate to the characters. characters that appeal to 15 years olds aside... this game is good... and i say that having really liked the first. the only problem is... a follow up should ALWAYS be better . there's a lot of parts of this game that either 1. stayed the same or 2. just got worse (the combat) the world is gorgeous ... probably the best looking I've seen in any video game... the combat isn't great... but it isn't even close to being bad (it could be better) the mission structure is pretty much always the same... i saw a lot of people complain about this in mafia III... while it is a long campaign... you do a lot of the same stuff over & over & over if you love puzzles & "hacking" you will love watch dogs 2... if you get frustrated easily... you will probably enjoy it for hour or two at a time... before you need a break from horrible attempts @ humor and repetitive missions overall the game still manages to be really good. you will be doing a lot of the same stuff , the characters are sometimes just cheesy... when you get by that... underneath lies a pretty good game (it makes sense to me) pardon grammar... i typed this like in 2 minutes. hope you enjoy the review.

I can't believe the amount that was improved on since the first Watch Dogs. Where to begin? The driving feels so much better along the lines of Saint's Row that allowed total control over the vehicle (stop on a dime, tight turning, etc). The hacking is completely overhauled in that now you have multiple options when selecting items to hack (overload, distract, set up a trap, etc). The characters are juvenile but so likeable. They're very much little anarchists that are fun to be around. I love the social media aspect and how that levels your character up the more followers you have. The game looks fantastic with lots of lush environments and detail in all the shops and interiors you go in. No bland environments this time around! Oh, and I hopped on some co-op missions with my buddy...more fun than I've had in a loooong time just goofing around with each other. Totally seamless drop in gameplay. An Ubisoft game that actually got the co-op right!!! I can't overstate how much this game deserves your attention.

Watch dogs was a fun game and I like Aiden. This game improves on it but at the same time has taken some steps back. The addition of an RC and droid opens up the world to many possibilities. Get the droid as soon as you can. It helps on so many missions. There's lots of upgrades as well. Too many, but as you continue the story you'll fill it up. My personal favorite is the gang attacks. Get someone else to do your dirty work. So the negatives The cover system is bad. Sometimes you are in cover and want to get out or move, but you might get stuck. Driving and hacking behind is still an issue but you can control cars in front of you which is great. The story and characters are ok. Has some nice moments but it also has some cringy moments. It tries to be meta. Nothing really stands out besides Wrench. The rest of the characters are just ok. The story seems to be purpose less in a way. There's no definite goal unlike Aiden, which was revenge. The online is less annoying. It has improved and added some new modes. Overall the fun overshadows the flaws

I am not saying this is the best game ever or the game of the year I just think for a fall release open world single or co-op experience this was the perfect game for that itch. The story is a lil far fetch maybe a lil gimmicky along with the characters but once I sunk my teeth into the mechanics & gameplay the hacker crew grew on me the ability to completely hack your way go stealth or guns blazing help or cause mayhem that freedom is what this game fun. I can't tell you how many times I made rival gangs, police,& security for places have shootouts for the laughs or strategic value. The side missions tie in perfectly allowing growth & slow the game down to see the city which has a really nice way to do it in Scoutx an app that allows you to pose near famous, historic, or memorable places throughout San Fran this allowed me to discover places here convos that led to other places. I can go on & on but it's a solid redemption with great customization options & growth of character oh & a lot of stuff is free as long as you earn in the game & not with real currency You're a hacker 5grand in 10 minutes a piece of cake Enjoy !!

This is was an absolutely fantastic game. If you liked the first one...even if you didn't like the first game, I highly recommend this one. It's another dramatic turn around for an Ubisoft series that didn't start off so hot (see: the first Assassin's Creed). The characters are more likable, the story is more intriguing, the game world of virtual San Francisco is stunningly gorgeous, the driving mechanics are vastly improved, and the hacking is a lot more fun, plus there is a TON of things to do usually covered by clever puzzle solving, which adds that little extra to it. If there was anything I had to take away from it, was that high powered weapons weren't needed. The game doesn't penalize you in any way for using them, which completely goes against the narrative. Maybe Watch Dogs 3 can look into a game where non-lethal means is the only objective (or have some kind karma system in place for using them). Either way, I recommend this to anyone. If you liked the first game, you'll LOVE this one. If you didn't like the first game, then this is the second chance you need to give the series.

Purchased this game and wanted to play it before delivering a review. I must say Ubisoft has stepped up the open-world platform with this gem. I was a big fan of the first Watchdogs based in Chicago but the new abilities of this 2nd addition is a step in the right direction for the type of open-world platform this game wants to deliver. I know many want to compare this game with GTA5 but they are really 2 entirely different universes. The hacking system implemented in this game is very familiar to the first edition of Watchdogs and you will still notice a similar fell to Assassins Creed. The protagonist in the game produces a more energetic and lively feel considering he's younger and more agile than the predecessor Aiden Pierce. The world is very much alive as things transpire within your surroundings without you interacting, making things feel more realistic. The campaign overall is very fun and the abilities are added in such a way where it allows you to play your game, your way. If you are a ffan of the first Watchdogs then this is a must-have for your collection.

I am personally a huge fan of the GTA series games and Watch Dogs 2 is similar to GTA 5 with the added benefit of being able to hack people and objects which adds to the fun factor of the game. I love how almost everything you do requires you to think and strategize how you will attempt to complete the mission at hand. Whether it's finding a way on top of a building to get a money bag or research point, or using stealth and hacking to sneak your way through a restricted zone to complete your mission. Some negative aspects of the game are that it can sometimes get somewhat repetitive and the fact you can only carry 2 weapons plus your stun gun. Even though going around killing people doesn't really fall in line with your characters and the Dedsec story line and M.O., it would still be nice to be able to carry a couple more weapons that you have to purchase using in game money. But I suppose that just adds to the strategic and planning aspect of the game. Overall it is a great game that is fun and you could play for hours on end.

Don't judge this game on it's predecessor. While enjoyed the first game, I read a lot of complaints, by people who refuse to buy this game, because they didn't like the first one. Ubisoft attempted to address all those complaints, in this iteration, and even though I liked the first game, I'm enjoying all the improvements. First, there is a ton more to do. There are so many side missions, that I often end up using my whole game time without ever furthering the main story missions. The story is a bit more interesting. You are now working with a team, and focused on exposing ctOS. There it is a lot more light hearted, and includes plenty of humor. Much of the hacking, and storyline, are also based in reality. I'm still making my way through the game, but I've really been been enjoying it so far, and haven't been fatigued by the story/missions. I haven't tried much of the multiplayer elements yet, since I often get paired with someone who wants to go in, guns blazing, instead of a stealthier approach. From what I have seen though, it pairs up quickly

It is worth the money for the visual details and interactiveness of the landscape - you can go into more buildings and destroy more objects in the landscape than the first game. The drone and motor bot are cool additions. Sneaking into combat areas is more fun than the last game. And your dedsec friends are more interesting and have more relevance to the story than most of the characters in the first game. However, the game just feels stale to me. It seems too much like gta5. Also, the game is so realistic that it seems like you are actually a kid in San Fran hacking alarms and stealing cars and secrets from baddies. But that is kind of the problem. How exciting is it to be a normal kid running around San Fran hacking companies databases with remote robots? Improved game over the first watchdogs, but ultimately it is not a very exciting idea - to me. But, if you find the game idea exciting, you will like the game as it has loads of places to visit and hack. Just don't get the cops involved, they are ridiculously hard to defeat and/or escape.

My review is mixed. Yes it is a better game in most all ways. This is the game the first Watch Dogs should have been. The graphics aren't much better though the color palettes help a lot and keep it from looking washed out. I miss following random people to find more info or side quests. The game is completely open and there is little to no path other than the icons you see on the map. This left me a bit bored at times trying to decide what to do next and at times choosing a mission I wasn't ready for due to not having the right unlocked skills yet. Even on the hardest settings the game is too easy. I'm the kind of person that plays most games on average settings. I jacked up the difficulty and it is still way too easy. Absolutely no challenge. You never have to fight or shoot anyone. Your hacking gadgets can do all the work for you. I haven't tried the online so far but it's seemless with the single player game. I only paid 25 for it so it was totally worth it. GTA with hacking.

Just about everything is better in this sequel to Watch_Dogs 1. The hacking is more involved, there are more toys to play with, and it feels great to outsmart and prank your enemies. Most of the problems from the first game are gone. Particularly the driving mechanics, and the horrible story. The only thing returning which are problematic would be the police AI system.. which as usual seems to always know where you are, even being able to spawn right in front of you, just outside of your field of vision. That said, the game as a whole is a far more fun and adventurous experience. Even the more lighthearted story is a welcome addition. They don't take themselves seriously in this game, even though the subject is something they want you to think about. They don't shove the themes of this game down your throat, as if it was the only thing they cared about. I've been having a great time, both online and offline. I do recommend it, and I'm surprised (and pleased) to think that.

This game hasn't been played yet so here is why I purchased it. Though the original Watch Dogs had controversy over graphics I found the game itself fun with an engaging story. I enjoyed it. I guess graphics aren't everything. I loved the way it captured a real world city (Chicago) and the hacking was a potential gimmick that was integral to the game and, again, fun. So, Watch Dogs 2 is supposed to deliver on this and add more. Gameplay, graphics and a new modeled city (this time San Francisco). Not sure how I feel about a completely new protagonist but I'm not against it. I look forward to putting some time into this and getting back into the ctOS conspiracy. At $15 it's a sure winner for someone who enjoyed the first game and enticing for those new to the story.

It's a good way to kill a couple of days. I don't regret the purchase, or playing the game. If you can pick it up for around $15 it's definitely worth it. I wouldn't have paid more for it. It's a pretty obvious pander to "modern tech" and a blatant attempt to romanticize it. The game should just be called "Quirky people, hacking things." The game seems pretty self aware through the whole thing, so it actually achieves some genuine laughs through the story. My biggest complaint though is the driving physics as they are just absolute garbage. 99% of the game I used the fast travel because I just couldn't get past the terrible driving. The gun fights and sneaking around are fine. Not great by fine. The whole game is just fine, nothing special. It isn't something that will stick in your mind for years to come, but if you need to kill a couple days and can pick this up for cheap. Go for it.

The map is big with lots to do. There are many comparisons between this and GTA 5 but they are different games. My opinion is GTA 5 is much better due to gameplay, the detail of the world and the story missions. Watchdogs 2 is a different type of game and is much improved upon from the first game. The vehicles are disposable in this game meaning you don't collect them and you cannot modify them to your liking. You can however purchase with in game money vehicles that then get added to your list of deliverable choices. It will take a long time to fully explore the whole map and find all the hidden stash. The story is okay but not great. The drone is fun to get a bird's eye view of the situation and you can race them too. Over all this is a good game and deserves more praise than it got on release.

Watch dogs 2 is a good game but far from being a great game. Selfishly the only reason I bought this game is because I live in the San Francisco Bay Area which is depicted in the game and I wanted to see how it stacked up to real life (not bad by the way). The game itself is fun for a while in the same essence as grand theft auto is fun. The main purpose is touring the open world and seeing what you can get into in between missions. The graphics are above average and the open world is somewhat immersive but the game play can get boring after a while. The missions are fun in the beginning but can get repetitive after a while. The story is almost an afterthought to the game play and has no depth. Would give the game 2 1/2 stars if possible but decided to give it 3 stars over 2 as the San Fracisco Bay Area is depicted well.

I haven't done console gaming since the first Xbox. At least not in this way. I have been pc gaming for a while mostly mmo's. However, I wanted to play this game for a while just seeing the trailers for it. First of all it is a gem. You can not imagine the real thought that went into this game until you play it. I feel that this game can get better with time as well. Second, if you haven't played a console in years things have change so much. And some of it is pretty awesome. Third this game rules my life lately. I am all about the puzzles and the data flow in this game. Putting the pipes of data flow on the sides of buildings and ceilings... wow. I am amazed. All I need to say is ubisoft keep it going this game can be as big if not bigger than gta because of the game play.

Overall this is a great game save for a few things. You play as a part of a hacktavist group that is bringing into light the dirt that the various fictitious Silicon Valley companies are hiding through the use of hacking. The story is one of the weak points of the game and the characters are another. The game play more than makes up for those shortcomings though. The best part is making vehicles drive crazy and stealing random pedestrians money through just the press of a button. For some reason I just can't do it enough. The other downside is not being able to opt out of being online and having on occasion some other player trying to hack you when you're trying to complete a task. I would definitely recommend this if you like the GTA style games.

Well this game isn't horrible but it's not a perfect game either. It's a game I've put a good amount of hours into and Im just not really getting into it. I feel like you die really easy and you don't have many cool weapons other than the rc car and drone . The police chases like last time in watch dogs just seem kinda boring. The cops are too op . Really hard to loose them during a chase . The weapons are hard to use During the chases . Game is decently entertaining just not one I'm enjoying like I have other games of it genre. So 3/5 for me . That's my opinion so I would say wait for a good sale like I did . Got it for 30 bucks plus my gamers club discount so came out around 23 or something .
