I was on auto replacement and received a new water filter. Soon after the simple install, I noticed water leaking out of my refrigerator. When I opened the refrigerator water flooded out and into the below freezer compartment. After turning off water supple and clean up I removed and reinstalled filter, but soon after, the same result. After inspecting the filter, I noticed a slight difference(see photos). The cap on the new filter is slightly different from the cap on the old filter and on the box as well as the filter under "For Use in System" there is an "E" at the end on new filter/box and a "1" on old filter. I went to best buy I was able to find old filter in a dusty box which concerns me that they are being replaced. After exchanging and installing older filter, everything is back to normal, no more leakage and praying my correct filter will remain available. So if you own samsung RF25HMEDBSR or similar make sure your replacement filter is for use in DA97-08006A-1 and not DA97-08006A-E.

I would like it to last longer than 6 mo. Need a filter that you change once a year.

Filter arrived the next day i ordered. This is the first time i bought this.

DO NOT buy the DA29-00019A or DA29-00020B Samsung water filter cartridge for your refrigerator unless you bring in your current water filter cartridge and compare the head (top) of your current filter to the filter in the store. If they match, no problem. If they do not match, then you have my problem. Apparently, Samsung changed its “certified” filters sold by Best Buy. The new DA29-00020B filters will NOT fit the older refrigerators. I contacted Samsung corporate and they told me to purchase a “certified” Samsung water filter. I did. At Best Buy. According to the Samsung web site, my refrigerator, a 2011 model (RS267TDBP), requires a DA29-00019A filter, now replaced by the DA29-00020B filter, which is all Best Buy sells for Samsung side-by-side models where the filter is located in the interior lower right hand of the unit. Apparently, Samsung changed it filter heads for newer models and no longer supports older model filters. I wrote to Samsung corporate HQ to no avail. Now I am stuck with a refrigerator with no way to replace the water filter. I’m NOT happy.

I debated on whether to get a Samsung filter or some aftermarket but after hearing some people say that it took more than 4 or 5 gallons on an aftermarket filter to get clear water, I decided to go with the Samsung. About 4 gallons is recommended after installation and prior to drinking. Installation was quick and maybe just a small dribble of water, if any. Make sure to match the exact filter with you refrigerator so that you have an exact fit; not all Samsung filters and refrigerators are interchangeable. The price is a bit high but I would recommend an OEM filter as apposed to an aftermarket based on what I have heard and my experience.
