Well, it's a fridge filter. It's the name brand one so you assume it's the best to get for your fridge. One installation tip though: if possible, shut off the water supply to the fridge first, then unscrew the old filter and replace it. Don't forget to turn the water back on! Whenever I would leave the water on to change the filter it would break something in the water delivery system of my fridge. Samsung had to come out twice to fix it! (Good thing I got the Geek Squad protection!) The second time they came out, they recommended shutting off the water first and since then it has worked everytime.

This filter is so easy to install. You just untwist, push, and twist again to tighten. The water from the dispenser on my Samsung fridge tastes so much better. Just a tip: After replacing your filter with the new one I would fill up a couple of gallons of water just to filter out anything that’s left from the old one. I’ve seen imitation ones on Amazon but you have to be careful because they may be cheap but the description isn’t the same. Purchasing from BestBuy was way cheaper than going through the manufacturer of this filter brand too. Other than I feel this filter is tried and true. I would definitely buy this again.... from BestBuy that is!

My review is over Best Buy service, not the product. The store associate told me I had the correct model, and if not, I could always exchange it. I got it for my mom who was waiting for her brother to swap them out. He was not able to help her until about 20 days after purchase and found it was not the right filter. We brought it back in and were told the exchange window was 15 days, so they couldn't help. We asked if they would downgrade us to the Best buy brand for the exchange and they could keep the difference. They still said they couldn't help. I suppose its a bit of our fault for waiting and not noticing the receipt said to return or exchange within 15 days, but we both thought 30 day return policies was the standard. And on the front end, the store associate told me I had the right unit when I didn't. A bit of criticism to both the Samsun brand and Best Buy brand, make the part that shows model compatibility larger.

We bought our new fridge about seven months ago, and right on schedule, the water filter needed replacing last month. We looked online to buy it from the Samsung site. The filter was quite a bit cheaper than the same one at Best Buy, but when you figure in the shipping charge, it would have cost more. So, we just bit the bullet and purchased it from the store. In this particular fridge, it was very easy to install the new filter. No issues with installation. They are pricey, but you gotta have it. We can't comment on the filter's longevity sInce we've only had it about a month, but hopefully it will go the six month estimate.

Excellent product last longer then it say love it .

I bought two of these filters - one to install now and one for a spare. I put one in (it takes about 5 seconds to insert it and give it a half twist to the right to install it, and then I followed the instructions of running about a gallon of water through it. You really do need to run this amount of water through it so get all of the air out of it so you get a smooth stream of filered water coming out. I then reset the change filter light - you have to do this manually but all it takes is pressing and holding for 5 seconds (not the 3 seconds they tell you) the child lock/filter reset spot on the bottom left corner of the touch control screen just above the water/ice dispenser. It works great now - tasty filtered water and flavorless crushed ice from my fancy refrigerator any time I want it.

This water filter is always in stock... thank goodness for that, because sometimes I don't think to order it in advance of needing it. I'm glad that the specific filter I need for my brand of fridge is always available, too. When shipped, the delivery is speedy. If I choose store pick up, it's a quick process to get it once I arrive at Best Buy. I'm pleased all around with the product, customer service and options for receiving the item.

I know water filters aren't exactly exciting, but they are important to providing you and your family clean water. There are always less expensive options you can buy, but I'm not one for taking a chance on using anything other than genuine replacement filters for my refrigerator. It can't be easier to replace the filter. Simply unscrew the filter you have, remove it, then insert and tighten the new filter. It is recommended you flow a few quarts of water through after you've replaced the filter to get any air out from the replacement process. Then you're good to go till your notified it's time for a new replacement.

Original filter for the Samsung refrigerator. Very easy to install. A little pricey but easy to install. I don't trust after market filters after a huge water leak that a friend had.

We had originally purchased the insignia water filter for our Samsung refrigerator. While the filter "worked", it caused various issues with refrigerator. The insignia filter never seemed to regulate water correctly which led to water being dispensed slowly and ice making being made on irregular intervals. When it came time to change the filter we went back to the Samsung brand filter and within 2 days all of our issues had gone away. Water is colder and dispenses more quickly and we have no more issues with ice. It could have been that the insignia filter we had was have been defective but we will likely stick with the OEM Samsung filters for our fridge going forward.

Product works very well, I have brought this product several times and wouldn’t consider an alternative.

Apparently the good thing about Samsung refrigerators is that you only need to know if it's a long, skinny water filter or not. Apparently there are only two kinds. When I bought this in the store, I was holding my phone with a picture of the water filter on Amazon to show the Best Buy worker, and he saw it and took me to the same filter in the store. And he also said, are you doing a price match? And checked me out with the cheaper online price, quick and easy. Very observant and efficient employee they have there. And the water filter itself is easy to install, located at the front of the refrigerator so you don't need to take all kinds of stuff out of your refrigerator in order to install it, like some other refrigerator brands.

I have a samsung refrigerator and ive only changed out this water filter once a year it seems. We dont use the water a whole lot so it lasts us a long time. The water is good.

Easy to install after removing old filter. Not happy with the directions that require discarding three gallons of water before human consumption.

Have purchased it a few times. No issues. Easy to change out.

We were given the wrong filter at first, paid for it, drove 8 miles to pick it up and had to drive back to the store for the correct one. Finally got the right one. Was a waste of time at first.
