Yes, these drives are more expensive than many other hard drives. However, when you factor in the dramatically improved reliability and longevity, it has been my experience that they are more than worth the extra money.

Easy install, the only thing that takes time is updates to make make windows up to date. After years of using cd insalls of windows on other machines. The usb method seems quicker.

It has worked flawlessly and I have gotten comments from the users that the computer has been very responsive. It is hard to say how much performance was on account of the drive, but I am very happy with the purchase.

Good Enough

I think next time will go with the Longer Lasting model. The Black has a Five Year warranty I think. Best Buy has been pretty good, they carry more stuff I need than Office Depot, but they also have created problems for me, ahh, live and learn.

Reliable, Excellent HDD Read Speed

Rely on them for edit/mix of our business's audio recordings, including 48+ channel counts at 24bit-96kHz. Critical to keep backups of everything, so we mirror two drives for each project (yes, plus an external drive as a safety). Have no issues with them!
