Good mix of price vs performance. Was looking for a 7200 rpm drive but manufacturers are quicker to point out data transfer speeds.

Bought this when my HDD was failing. Works great. Very quiet. Don't notice the sound of the HDD seeking as I have with older drives.

I bought a pair of these drives to store backups of my audio and video collections and important digital documents so I'd have multiple copies. It was easy to clone the existing drive over to the new drives other than having an new drive letter for the second backup, it's business as usual.

Very easy to install and operate. Quick speeds to move pics and vids around your desktop PC

After reading all the reviews on several sites, I decided to look into this one. Seems good value for the money. pretty good speed.

Western Digital Black Drives are the only drives I will use for new builds and replacing old drives. 5 Yr warranty is excellent and the drives are often on sale. Its an easy decision

The original drive tested good, however, even with a new format I still had problems with reboot and starting the computer when it had been off. Windows could not repair it and after about 30 times in one month, I bought the new hard drive and reloaded all the software and it works great.

Replacement for an identical WD drive that failed after 5-1/2 years. I know the Black series are supposed to be top quality, so I consider the failed unit to have been an abnormal failure, not typical of the Black series. Because of that failure I gave the drive a 4 star rating, otherwise I would have rated it as 5 stars. I expect this one to last much longer.

Fast throughput for a spinner drive. These older style mechanical drives are still generally more durable than the SSDs in write intensive scenarios. For the price point, it's hard to beat the quality of the WD Black series.

Still working great. Never had a WD die. However i have had way to many other brands die. For hdds I'm perma Western Digital from now on. Bought a bit ago, working great but now days I'd get an ssd instead.

Reasonably fast by spinning plater standard but don’t expect SSD speeds as that is not what it is. Do expect it to last the warranty period which what should be expected. WD Black drive just work and I’ve used hundreds in my career as an IT specialist.

Yo mate I plugged in the drive, see and it's working just like it should. I got my computer going and just waiting for it to catch fire and explode but so far it hasn't so I'm optimistic. AND YO I got the black one just like my geeky little friend told me too.

Its a Western Digital Black Drive, need I say more! Dependable, fast. No issues on any of mine that I have. Would recommend!!

Hard drive was easy to install of course. Good drive for storage for the price. 1 TB is of course 1024 as most think 1000. If you understand binary, then you understand. LOL. 7200RPM is good and 64mb of cache could be more. Happy nonetheless.

My hard drive took a dump yesterday. Purchased this today since they were out of stock of another hard drive I wanted. Hooked it up, installed a fresh copy of windows. Let it do the work while I went to work. Came home, finished up the last steps. PC runs fast! Hope it lasts!

Sadly, hard drives do not last forever! Mine crashed unexpectedly with little back up. Geek Squad had me up and going in just a couple of days, and recovered the most important data from the old drive. New one is bigger and faster than the last!

I've purchased and installed numerous WDC Black HDDs over the years and have found them to be very reliable. Much more so than some 'other' brands. If I'm not going with an SSD, then certainly a WDC Black is my go-to storage drive.

Bought this as the main drive for a workstation pc running Redhat. Great performance to price ratio. I have not run any official benchmarks but it seems to run on par with an older gen 1 intel x25 ssd that it replaced. Runs cool and quiet as well.
