    Excellent Drive Easy Installation

I got the 2TB because I wanted to stick with MBR and not use GPT. I cloned my current drive with a hardware cloner, installed the drive and extended the partition. Easy as expected. No issues. If there is a con, it is that the black line of HD's are quite loud during operation. That's a small price for the performance boost you get with the black series drives.

I purchased this drive to use as an external for my xbox one. Its faster and cheaper than buying an external hard drive. I just bought a case to put it in and connected to the 3.0 usb port of my xbox. works great with no problems

2TB drive was installed in my new desktop PC to store photos/data about 2 weeks ago and so far no issues. I successfully moved over 300GB of data to the drive without issues and access to files have been relatively quick. Time will tell if it's a reliable drive.

I wanted a high quality SATA hard drive to give to my wife for her new DroBo running with Apple Time Machine. Plugged right in, started right up, no problems. The 5 year warranty is nice to have in case either of the two drives goes south.

    High Performance Hard Drive

I bought two of these drives to use in a RAID configuration, essentially writing the same data to two drives to ensure the data is safe in case of any unforeseen issues with either drive. The performance is really good. The difference is almost unnoticeable from the Solid State Drives I'm using for the operating systems on my desktop workstation. If you're looking for a cost-effective high-performance hard drive then definitely check this series of Western Digital drives out.

Replacement drive for iMac 27" mid 2010

Purchased this drive as a replacement for the drive in the iMac that went bad. No real issues, but no information with the drive that tells you if / how the heat sensors work. Make sure you remember how you unplugged wires from the original. If you are replacing a drive in a Mac, try to find out what brand you have. iMacs are fussy regarding the heat sensor. (Not an issue with the drive, but an issue with Mac). If you use a different drive, you will likely need to pick up a new sensor. Once installed, I had no issues with the drive. Formatting and getting data recovered are all relatively smooth with the Mac.

I've had the hard drive in the desktop for about 3 weeks now without issues. It is pretty fast and seems much quicker than my old 1TB HD that failed after 9 years. I hope this one lasts as long.

Fantastic storage capacity and great speed at 7200 rpm. I use it as my secondary drive for storing large programs, pictures and music. My primary drive is an SSD housing the OS and supporting software.

We use these drives in one of our three TeraStations and have had relatively few problems with them compared to other hd's we have had. The black one is supposed to be their workhorse but we have recently tried their red ones as well.

It works well with NetGear cloud storage system. However, I just checked the price from amazon. I bought three of these for my four disk NAS unit. Everything about them makes them a perfect drive. It works well with NetGear cloud storage system. I am curious whether this is the best price or not.

The writing speed can reach close to 800MB/s for the first few GB. More quiet than the hard drive I had, still a little noisy compared to the SSD, but that's how HHD works. Overall, good quality, worth the price.

I have used Western Digital for all of my hard drive needs in the past (usually external drives) and have yet to have a problem. So as I was building my gaming computer, there was no company I would trust more.

I needed to get a HDD in addition to my SSD (for operating system only) This HDD does not disappoint, I have it almost 80% full already and it still benchmarks in the 99th percentile on UserBenchmark.

I have used these drives for years and they have always performed flawlessly. They are used in Insignia HDD enclosures and they are quickly recognized by the system. I have never had any failures of any kind with these drives. Nice job WD!
