I have a lot of steam games on my computer and I just needed a separate hard drive to separate the two so that's when I went to Best Buy and I bought this and it's great to be able to have your games separated from the storage on your computer

Still good for video or audio storage but really, pony up for the ssd if u wanna game

It would have been nice if someone at my Best Buy store had told me that I was probably gonna need a SATA cable to finish my install. Had I known I would have had it up and going in a few minutes but instead had to go all the way back to the store to get one, then finally back home to finish my install.

I've always had success with this drive. It's the only one that consistently never fails. It's super fast for a mechanical drive. It runs even at hot temperatures. I've had these drives last me 7+ years with heavy use. I've owned the 1, 2, and 4TB versions. All have amazing performance. I highly recommend this if you do video editing or game. You will NOT regret it. These are really tought and reliable drives.

The cloning software that comes with this works perfectly as well. Very easy to do. Just need to change the drive letter to match the old drive (Google it), also very simple, and everything works seamlessly. The first drive I replaced was back when XP was young, this is SO much easier!

Perfect Drive for Archiving Games

The drive is a 7200 rpm version which makes it quick and perfect for archiving games. Because its a WD Black model I expect it to be reliable and in the past I have never had one fail. To get this same storage space in a SSD would cost a fortune so I will live with the slightly longer load times.

My last HDD was eight years old and only 1TB, so I figured I'd upgrade everything and have been working on copying it over. It's fast to a point of me having to race to get to my BIOS screen, and it's pretty quiet outside of booting up. (Some clicks, nothing out of the ordinary.) I'm looking forward to not needing three disk drives when I'm done.

Most Durable HDD on the Market

I have this in a Server PC for overall bulk storage and to offload minor games from my main pc and for the cost of this drive over an SSD this is definitely worth the cost. WD Black drives are made to last over any other HDD.

Fast traditional bulk storage

It performs well, although when there’s a lot of disk activity you can hear it working. Until similar sized SSDs come down in price I’m not aware of a better value option.
