Storage for DAYS!

I feel like this review is going to be pretty short because this thing just works. With Game Pass, 1TB of space just isn't enough anymore. But 4?! I can load this guy up with everything I want to play without even thinking about it.
I understand the design of this drive to an extent because it's supposed to look rugged. But I don't know if it would stand the real test. The top plate is metal but most of the case is still plastic. I think it would survive most transportation if you take your console with you often.
Setup is simple. Just format it through your Xbox as external storage and you're all set. This isn't going to be as fast as the built in storage of your Series X or anything because it's not an SSD. It's about as fast of a USB connection as you can get but being a platter based hard drive you won't get the same speeds as the internal drive. You could use it to store games and move them back to your internal drive when you're playing them a lot. I would recommend this strategy. The benefit being you don't need to redownload things over and over after deleting them.
Overall, This is a good hard drive. It's massive. Has a high speed connection (even if the actual drive isn't an SSD so it won't be as fast as your internal drive) and is super easy to setup. If you're looking for a huge amount of storage and are OK with moving things back and forth for some extra speed, this is the drive for you.

My WD Black P10 arrived while I was on vacation and I couldnt wait to get home to hook it up and try it out. Plug and Play set up is a breeze with the included USB A - Micro B cable.
I have tons of room now to store multiple games.
I've found access to be fast and games play with no issues, the drive itself does make some noise but as with any physical drive, that's to be expected.
If you are looking for reliable external X-Box storage, the WD Black P10 is a fantastic option.

Western Digital continues to be a leader in hard drive technology and this drive does exactly what it says it will do.
Obviously, it’s USB so the setup and addition to the XBOX was quick and easy. It saw the drive and I was able to add it without any trouble. Once in place, I offloaded some of the less frequently used games from the 1TB built-in HDD to this one so I could test things out. The copy of about 100GB was really quick and done in about a minute I’d guess.
The other test I wanted to run was to play a game off of the external drive to see if there was any noticeable lag or delays and I am happy to say, there was not. I felt like the loading up of the game along with the actual gameplay was as if it was running from the internal one.
The case of the drive is nice and feels well made. Lastly, while running there was next to no sound from the drive at all nor did it heat up much at all.

As many gamers know HD space in console systems is, well lacking so an external drive is a great solution. So we decided to pick up the 4TB WD_BLACK P10 for Xbox. The sturdy metal black and white case is great if you need to take you HD on the go and its pretty compact in size. Transfer speeds for loading and transferring data to and from the drive seem to be pretty seamless at 100gb/s, so loading and transferring of games is a breeze. The drive plugs in using a usb 3.2 cable and setup is a breeze, just plug it into your system choose what you would lie to use it for, whether it be games, photos etc. click format and within a few minutes the drive is ready to use. Again this is a must have for the XBOX owner. Great product!

This Western Digital Hard Drive has a modern look, very different from others I have. The hard drive is easy to use. You simply plug the drive into your Xbox One with the provided cord and follow the prompts on the screen. The transfer of game content was quick. By using this hard drive, it seems to have made the overall experience better. It doesn't take much to fill up the hard drive on the gaming system. With this additional space, it helps make the games run smoothly. It's also a nice compact size, which makes it easy to carry. Overall it's a quality device.

Excellent hard drive and lots of space for storing your games. Easy to set up and format using your Xbox storage management menu.
One major thing to keep in mind is while this hard drive will store Series X games you cannot play them directly from this hard drive. You’ll have to transfer them to the internal SSD. It will, however, allow you to play backwards compatible titles from this drive.
Also, if you don’t already have it, you can utilize the included 1 month trial of Game Pass Ultimate to explore all the service has to offer.

This is one of those categories of product where it either works or doesn’t, right? Hard drive space becomes a premium on gaming systems if your collection is of decent size and usually results in some difficult decisions like “what do i want to keep playing?”
If that’s your life, this WD is exactly what you need. It’s very well designed, compact, and plugs right into one of the available USB ports on your Xbox. Setup was seamless and aside from yet another light glowing in my entertainment center at night it’s pretty much perfect.

This is just what sons needed to store all they're Xbox games, with a extra 4 TB-3.6 in total. They now have a pretty endless range of room for theyre game library.
This is a simple plug and play install, only uses one USB A to USB 3.2 cable for transfer and power, I have the WD driver plugged into one of the rear USB ports on the Xbox S. I had this up and running in less than 5 minutes.
I highly recommend giving this a try if your in doubt.

Great for Xbox 1 Game Transfer to Xbox Series X/S

I used this drive to take all the Xbox One (and Xbox 360, and OG Xbox) games off of my very well used Day One 2013 Xbox One console with older, smaller external drives in preparation to transfer them to an Xbox Series S.
It was so easy. I plugged it into the Xbox One and the system asked me if I wanted to use it for media or games. I chose games and it formatted the drive. I set all the games to move to this drive, and later that day, they were all done, about 3.2 TB of them. Then after setting up the new Xbox Series S, and making it my home console, I just unplugged this drive from the old Xbox One and plugged it into the Xbox Series S.
In very short order, games from the drive were able to be played on the new console. It was the easiest setup and go for a new console I have ever had. The new fangled games or new fangled versions of recent games that are optimized for Series X/S cannot be played off this external drive. On, the X/S they need to be on the internal fast drive of the system, or the special (and expensive) expansion 1 TB drive that is available. If you just need more space for Xbox One era games or want to hold the fancy X/S optimized games for storage when you aren't playing them, this drive is great for that.
And for real world usage, for the 3.4 TB I have on the drive right now, that equates to 185 Games and about 16 apps.

My kids really appreciated adding this external HD to our XBox. No more deleting games to download a new one!
It plugs in via USB and works seamlessly to add additional storage capacity for your games. There's no real lag reading the drive.
In short, it works perfectly. We're very pleased.

Pretty much as expected. Connected to the Xbox rather easily and seems a little faster than my prior external drive. I like the design on the case of the drive as well. Really does what you'd expect and no issues after ~1 week use so far.

This is really an impressive little deck. Stores TONS of games (I have 30+ games on it and it’s not even half filled yet!). Load times are quick, it doesn’t get super hot, and has a freebie trial of Gamepass to boot, so it’s all around a great deal. Seriously, 4TB is more than almost anyone will ever need for gaming, so it’s a fantastic purchase, and blends well if you have an Xbox or PS5.

I got this little drive to expand the storage on my Xbox One S and really wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. It has a small form factor so it's easily portable but has plenty of heft so you feel like it is well made. Setup is a snap...just plug it in, turn on your machine and follow the on-screen prompts to format it for your console (or computer I suppose). I had mine up and running in about 60 seconds. Transfer speeds are respectable and I have had no issues whatsoever with it. Now I can save the space on my internal drive for my frequently played games. If you're out of space, seriously consider the WD Black P10. I don't think you will be disappointed!

So far, this storage shows no problems but a small cutback on memory storage. Ordered a 4tb but only has space for 3.6tb. That's half a terabyte which can be used to store more games. Otherwise would still recommend
