I usually go with Samsung, but with the recent massive price drops and good reviews, I decided to give the WD Black a try. I was not disappointed. Coupled with an Asrock Z390 MB, this drive is speedy and fast with more than enough transfer rates and rock solid performance. Price to performance on NVMe drives are really becoming fantastic and this was a solid buy. 5/5

I went ahead and bought the 1TB later for my personal system. Then for work to upgrade 3 new lenovo laptops that came with only 128GB, I bough 3 more of these from BestBuy. Would buy more in the future for $79 or less to upgrade future laptop purchases (Lenovo 256GB upgrade was already over $200).

Blazing fast

I have my operating system on here, Warzone, and Apex Legends and they boot up in a breeze. I am usually one of the first loaded into any lobby and I can boot my computer up and start opening programs in less than 10 seconds. I watched many comparisons on this vs. the Samsung Evo series and I didn't see enough to really justify the extra money. Would do it all over again.

Super fast, high performance & outstanding value!

Very easy to install and the read / write speed is incredible! Installed as primary drive and installed Windows 10 Pro on it. The OS boots up extremely fast! Ran benchmark tests and always get a consistent 230% plus performance score. OUTSTANDING! Installed many high end games on it and incredible load times. Don't hesitate to purchase this as highly recommended!

Much improved boot time and use performance. Installed o.s. directly on it. The only thing I would improve is to provide some screws for installation. Had to wait another day to get screws for installation on the motherboard. They could include some plastic screws in different sizes.

The drive installed with no problems and testing showed it to run at speeds advertised on the box. I installed a clean version of windows 11 on the WD Black and let it dual boot with another drive that is Windows 10. it worked with no problems. Very happy with this purchase.

Great SSD for upgrading

It took a bit to get the drive to have a UEFI partition, but watched enough U-TUBE videos to figure it out. The drive has been working great and super fast. I will be getting a larger capacity though when on sale. My mother board has 2 M.2 pcie 4.0 slots so this one may become the 2nd SSD on it. Great product!

I’ve bought three of these for different builds and they’re all excellent. Also has some optional software which is well designed and surprisingly very useful. Unless you’re ready to shell out a whole lot of money for a gen 4 NVMe, these are the best performing you will find for this price. Would absolutely recommend.

Outstanding laptop performance upgrade

I cloned the original SATA SSD to the WD Black using an external NVMe USB enclosure. Following a quick swap and a reboot into Safe Mode allowed the correct driver to load. Windows now boots virtually instantly compared to the older SATA SSD. (about 2 seconds compared to 7 seconds!) Very happy with the purchase.
