Bought this for some extra space on my PS5 and it worked fantastic. Really easy to install and plays all the games with no hiccups.

I haven't upgraded or changed any components in any computer since Windows Vista... so it's been a while. It's been so long, that the last time I changed a hard drive in a laptop, nvme didn't exist, or I didn't know about it. As such, I was a bit intimidated by doing so. I didn't want to ruin my gaming laptop, so I made sure I bought a grounding strap, and off I went. The nvme itself is remarkably small. I opened the bottom of my laptop, located the second nvme slot and carefully inserted it. Once I screwed everything back up and turned it on, I wanted to see how fast a game would install. I booted my game launcher, and chose a game in my library to boot up. The game installed pretty quickly. I also ran the game to see how it would fare, and that too went smoothly. I didn't experience any ghosting or lag. I installed my video editing program, and worked on a project, and that too zipped without any issues. I've always been a fan of Western Digital hard drives, so I was excited about installing an extra TB onto my gaming laptop. The nvme didn't disappoint.

Is fast enough that buying a faster one doesn't make sense. It is very affordable for its speed and storage space while still having a great warranty.

Very good SSD card. I did pick up, the workers were very friendly and the service was very good. I was able to get in pick up the order and leave. Would definitely buy again.

Needed a separate mounting kit, but after that it was very easy to install and works great for games.

Replaced my wife's 1TB HDD (was 3 years old, MBR, and working fine). Had to convert from MBR to GPT for UEFI (easy with MBR2GPT - many links with step by step instructions). The speed difference is phenomenal! Performing a properties check on the Windows directory (over 100k files) took well over a minute with the HDD. Took under 15 seconds with this NVMe!

I've worked in printing for over 25yrs and as time went on, so did file sizes. Setting up large format 5'x10' can take a monstrous amount of time on the old school slow mechanical HDD's. Even some of the more recent SSD, while better than HDD's, can have you twiddling your thumbs as you wait for the file to transfer from the drive to RAM. I'm not going to say the WD_BLACK SN770 is an instant "on button" for opening files, but it's pretty darn close to the max you can expect with current tech. And at the price these are selling for you gotta really love thumb twiddling if you don't grab one. Synthetic test did show my particular setup to be just a hair under 4000MB/s sequential write and read (left my screenshots at work). I'm not gonna cry over 1GB/s when I can tear through large files without breaking a sweat. The drive is amazingly fast, seriously! The one thing I'd have liked to see on the drive would have been a heatsink. These large fast NVME drives put out some heat and doing whatever you can to keep the cool will help with data corruption and increase the life of the drive. That said, the drive never seems to get dangerously hot. I'm still going to get a third party heat sink. As low as the WD_BLACK SN770 is I'm heading out to the local BB next week to pick up a 2GB if they have one in stock and fill that second NVME spot.

I use this with my Xbox Series X, which I also purchased from Best Buy for $339 (drop sale). So all in with a top video game console that includes 1.7 TB of storage for only $408.

you can never go wrong with a western digital. very dependable with great customer support is great. it moves as advertised they test at 4000 down and 3700 write with my machine i have now gotten another m2 hard drive and yes it is another wd.

I’ve been having troubles with my laptop having a HDD. When I switched to an SSD especially this one, it made a world of difference! Definitely recommend it!
