This SSD worked flawlessly with my PS5, which is a model 1200, the newest version of the PS5 at the moment (January 2023.) The 1200 has a metal shield in the SSD slot instead of exposed PCB, and I found that other drives did not work when installed in this model. The SN850 worked on the first try, and I got 6524 MB/s speeds (yours may vary, but I'm quite happy with it.) The heat sink is already installed, and I just don't want to bother installing my own to save a few bucks. You do you, though.

I got this drive to expand the storage capacity on my PS5, and WOW does it work flawlessly! This is by far the best storage expansion I’ve ever purchased, and I’ve bought many an SD card, USB drive, external HDD, external SSD, etc. This thing is just insanely fast. When playing an open-world game like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, loading times have been reduced by 10 to 20% over the internal PS5 drive. These savings add up over time. The PS5 tells you how fast your drive is when you format it, and this one actually beats the internal drive. This one is clocked in excess of 6500 MB/s, which exceeds the internal drive speed rated at 5500 MB/s. This is without any updates to the firmware and without any docking with a PC (I don’t even own a PC.) It was super easy to install. Came in an appropriately padded case. Of note, the heatsink is low enough in profile that it does in fact fact inside the PS5. This was delightful news to my ears when it just worked like that. Lastly and perhaps most importantly, this is the first drive I have ever used that contained its advertised storage as usable space. The PS5 recognizes a full 2 TB of storage space available, which is a truly phenomenal leap for storage technology.

super easy to use. the estimated amount games is a little off. the newer bigger games are closer to the size of two normal games. Call of Duty is about the same size as others. It was still a great addition to space and easy to install. The external hard drives will let you play PS4 games from them but not PS5 without transferring from external to internal. That was a little bit of a chore so i went this way.

Amazingly fast SSD, is as fast as if not faster than the internal storage on my PS5. All 2 tb were available, setup process and installation was quick. Was a bit pricey but thats just the going rate for these SSD's, i did get mines on sale for 360. If you can get it cheaper than that it is a not brainer, if you cant i still 100% recommend this product.

Ever since Mark Cerny recommended this drive, I've been eyeing to get one. The price markup for this unit is absurd with some going as high as $650-700. Thankfully Best Buy dropped this down to $315 (overnight - early morning) and was able to get it for $330 w/ taxes. The drive itself is perfect and does what it should. An added benefit is that it comes with a heatsink and so the entire install is a breeze. Just bear in mind to not over-torque the screw when installing it. Bottom line: If you have the money to spend and you can find one in stock for $350, the WD Black SN850 is a fantastic choice for expanding your PS5's storage capacity.

This device is great for owners of the ps5. I love this product because I have almost unlimited amount of data on my ps5 I can download so many games easily. Basically a plug and play this thing goes in the inside part of your console very easy to install and boom your ps5 will be ready. Also I remember when I first bought the console i had downloaded like 4 -5 games and the stroage was full, Ihighly recommend this product.

I was planning to get 1TB but I bought 2TB instead. It is expensive but I never buy stuff on full price luckily it was on sale and got it for $314.20 dollars including the tax. Just installed it on my PS5 today and it works amazing. Transferring my games from internal storage to M.2 was fast and smooth. Overall valuable upgrade for my PS5.

Purchased to install in a Playstation 5 now that the internal storage expansion is usable. Only took about 5 minutes to install and has been working flawlessly. The included heatsink also provides peace of mind that it will run well and stay cool.

I bought this M.2 for my PS5 when it was very pricey now you can get fit half of what I paid .overall very happy with this 2.TB storage . Super fast and you can store lots of games . Definitely needed as the PS5 internal storage is not much

I used this SSD for my ps5 and it works perfectly. Speed is up to par with the internal storage and install is very simple as well. I'd recommend buying the regular WD Black, not the PS5 branded one because it is the exact same drive but cheaper.

As someone who has been stuck with playing games on my ps4 with an external HDD for the past I dont know how long I am mind blown. I just recently got my PS5 and after installing the 2 TB SSD and transfering games over to it I was estatic. Obviously the PS5 and the WD BLACK 2 TB SSD was going to be amazing but I was genuinely freaking out over the fact that while playing Horizon Zero Dawn looking around the world felt so silky smooth. I feel like its been forever since Ive been this stoked to actually play video games again. The load timed as expected were amazing as well. Compared to what I had before the SSD loads so fast that if you blink its already at the menu or youve already fast traveled.I hope it lasts till the end of this console generation.

This is a good 2TB SSD Storage perfect for my my PlayStation 5. So I could download a lot of games. I would really recommend this to a buyer if they needed more storage on the PS5 that much. Overall a good SSD 10/10 rating.

Works great & super fast. Easy to install in the PS5 & now I have the amount of room the PS5 should have had in the first place. I got it on sale so it was a great price too!
