I have the PS5 Disc-Version and while I was debating on updating the side plates of the system, I decided to also upgrade the storage while I was at it. After ordering some unique sideplates online (DBrand!), I also plunked down money for this 2TB internal SSD since installing it requires opening of the PS5 - and I only wanted to open it once while I was making all these upgrades to it. Which is also the same reason I opted for 2TB instead of another PCIe with less storage space: to ensure that it would be a long while before I needed to update or otherwise change out this SSD. There is also a model that can be installed that does not come with a heatsink, but again, I wanted to make this install as straightforward as possible without any other variables. I looked up a video guide just to ensure that I installed it correctly - it's pretty self-explanatory, but I prefer to just be on the safe side - and after a quick setup on the PS5 Settings menu to update where games and saves are preferred, the PCIe works wonderfully. PS5 operates fast and the storage is perfect for having multiple games at the ready.

I was getting tired of not having enough space on the PS five so I purchased this card. I was also kind of skeptical about opening up the PlayStation but come to find out you’re not actually opening up the PlayStation you’re only taking the front cover off and that is very easy. It literally took about two minutes to takeoff the cover. Insert screw it in and put the cover back in and it was done. After that you turned a PlayStation on, and it says that the space was available. I can i stall directly to the card and play games from it freeing up storage on the actual system. I bought it while it was on sale as well

This was so easy to install and it more than tripled my internal memory. It is so fast too. It loads at about 1 gigabyte a second! I am also glad it has heat sync. Be aware that if you are thinking about getting a different one, the PS5 requires it. So if you get one without this you will have to buy a heat sync separate and attach it to the SSD. This is an expensive upgrade but it was worth it. I goes on sale sometimes too. I got mine for $90 off.

Large PS5 games are $100GB or more, many are around 50GB. Have to have this, PERIOD. Amazing FAST. Great Performance. Super easy to install.

Storage expansion is a must have serious gamers, as you will quickly eat up the meager 600+ gigs provided by Sony. I wen with the 2TB SSD, and already know that will be maxed out in less than a couple of years. The WD_Black 850 is recommended by an architect of the PS5, because it meets all the standards set by Sony, including: fit, heatsink inclusion, and read and write speeds. Furthermore, this SSD has gone on sale several times, so the price is the best is ever been. I bought my SSD when it was priced $275 towards the end of April 2022, and I have seen it as low as $265 during May 2022. It is easy to install, but still go online to read and get an understanding of the process. Read online instructions for 15 to 30 minutes, prepare your workstation/space (don’t won’t to lose the small screws) and yourself (they call it grounding; please Google it), and you should be able to install and have it running within 30 minutes, to be honest even less than that. Please note that you must update your PS5 for it to be able to detect and use the SSD. Therefore if you just bought a PS5, it is best to first set the console up and update it before installing the drive.

Super easy to install in our PS5 Digital. Provides a much needed memory upgrade. The hardest part is getting the side of the PS5 off to install this. After that, it is straight forward. This item, while expensive is a great addition to the PS5. If you are concerned about installing this just look for one of several YouTube videos showing how to do it. It really is easy.

If you're looking for more storage, this is the best brand. Easy to install and format. Fast speeds and no interruptions.

Can never have too much storage especially since i got the digital edition ps5, it was easy to install, games load just as fast as the on system ssd

I put this into my PlayStation to give me more space to hold games and it is done exactly that and has worked fast and wonderfully. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it for holding games that are getting larger and larger

The added heatsink fits perfectly with the SSD and PS5 and the 2TB version will increase the game library for our PS5 for quite some time! The only downside would be the price however Western Digital is highly reliable

I purchased this western digital name a while ago. Never had any regret since. It works fast with cool operating temperatures, lightening speed data transfers , easy to install, sturdy build quality and pocket friendly. I would recommend everyone who is on budget to consider this nvme drive for upgrade. It has different variants starting from 1 tb all the way up to 4 tb. Worth every penny. Works great with PS 5 .

Really good investment! Loads games super fast faster that the ps5 can and storage is great! Plus heatsink! Im glad i purchased now i dont have to erase a game to download another.

So far everything's working real good haven't had a problem with it Nice to be able to keep all the games on your hard drive and it was easy to install

If i had waited for ssd prices to fall and got this for less than 320 dollars i would have given this five stars. Supply and demand right? Anyways, the ssd has been just as fast if not faster than my internal and has significantly cut down on my borh my install and transfer times. I would reccomend getting a larger capacity if you have mediocre internet or game like I do. But overall it has done exactly what I needed it to do but I still think I overpayed

Did what i needed. Took two minutes to install completely. Works as advertised and can hold literally all of my PS5 games and loads just as fast as the PS5 default.

Easy install and triples the storage of ps5!! No noticeable speed / loading difference! Now i have tons of room for my new psvr2 games!!!

Well worth it! I can store so many games on my PS5 now. I bought this because with the size of PS5 games being what they are, I felt the internal 1TB was not going to be enough. I'm glad I did. I preordered the PS VR2. My PS4 and PS5 games take up most of the internal storage. The VR games will likely be on the added SSD. If you find yourself deleting stuff to keep storage open for a new game, I highly recommend this. It was very easy to install. Sony has a guide on how to do it. I got it on sale. If you can get a PS5 2TB SSD for $200 or less, snatch it up

Great storage, it's fast and fairly easy to install. It is worth paying because it has a good capacity and speed.

I installed this over a year ago and it still works wonderfully. Games fly on this and the extra space in my PS5 saves me all the extra time of having to move games off and on external drive.

Bought this a while back for my PS5 and just never got a chance to install it. Finally installed it a few weeks back and it was quite easy and simple. I did watch a YouTube tutorial for installing which helped a lot to make sure no steps are missed. Started the PS5 and everything just worked fine and now saving on the new internal HD. WD products are not new to me and I am very satisfied with them.
