I had a hard drive failure in my main desktop and needed to work quickly to salvage as much data as possible before the drive ceased to work. A quick trip to Best Buy to pick up this Western Digital drive. I have always preferred Western Digital drives and have had the least failures with their drives. Easy install, cloning software, and good performance. Highly recommend these drives.

Western Digital makes some very good drives. The Blue series drives is a fast drive for a great price. Although the warranty isn't as good as WD's Black drives, the lower price point makes up for it.

This is your basic 1TB hard drive. The price was reasonable and installation was simple. I didn't use the Western Digital software that was included with the disk so I can't comment on that. My previous "C:\" drive had been fried by a voltage surge and this was the replacement. Fortunately, I had a backup less than 24 hours old and was able to be up and running without much difficulty (but with a large dose of angst!).

Had this hard drive installed by the Geek Squad after my approval. Very fast, affordable and runs quietly.

Worked perfectly to for my application. Increased my pc storage by 4x and increased the overall speed.

Western Digital has been making hard drives a very long time, and are quite fast and reliable drives. Been working on computers over 30 years and have been had great experience with Western Digital. These drives will most likely outlast your computer. I will buy more for sure, here at Best Buy, which have awesome pricing and availability.

I am using this drive as my secondary gaming drive (500 gig 850 Evo as primary), and I'm quite satisfied with the performance, especially with the price that I paid. I would recommend this drive to anyone wanting to add another TB of storage to their system, and keep in mind that this is 7200 RPM while other sizes of the WD Blues are 5400 RPM. While not a huge deal for most people, that fact might be important to some users.

Great drive as a replacement to a semi-dead one. Plugged in easy, recognized by system, and fast to re-install the OS. Will probably get another similar version to install 10 or 11 in the near future and run this as a backup / redundant OS.

Computer started taking longer to boot and giving error messages. Took to Geek Squad for service. Computer diagnostics showed HD passed but Geek Squad ran better tests and show HD was failing. They recommended this 1 TB HD as a replacement, installed it, loaded OS & drivers, tested and returned it to me. It boots fast, runs great, faster than ever before saving and opening files and programs. And it is quite.

When I bought this hdd, I didn't know what to expect because I was buying this hdd for a budget build gaming computer and I am actually impressed. This hdd performs better than the packaging says its fast and reliable I have to say before I bought it my computer was running slower than slow and I put tho in and all my problems vanished. I would definitely recommend to anyone building a computer on a budget or just trying to increase storage on a computer.

It's a speedy drive with a nice amount of space that's great for running the OS & programs. Nice a quite as well.

I've never really had any issues with WD HDD's. Installation was a snap in my new Corsair 750 Case. Booted up and have been installing and running games/programs since. Drive is fast and I'm very pleased. I currently have my OS on a SSD drive and all games etc.. on this drive. Of course any drive can fail over time but usually not quickly. So basically this review is mainly positive due to the history I've had with WD.

I finally decided that since so many of the computer games that I play these days are digital only, or that require so many downloads even if they were bought on a DVD-ROM, that I needed to get a hard drive with more storage. I had been making do with a Western Digital 320 GB hard drive paired with another one that is 250 GB. I kept the newer of the two (the 320 GB) one as the back up drive and installed this one in the place of the smaller drive. Installation was just as easy as it has always been since I made sure that the width of the new drive would fit in my PC's drive bay. Western Digital has maintained good quality and this new one seems to be as well built as older ones I've used. My computer (running Windows 8.1) recognized the drive no problem and I was able to install the operating system on it easily. I've used this drive almost every day since I bought it for surfing the net, productivity software and gaming. I've installed and played some fairly demanding games on it and haven't noticed any increase in noise, even when the game is really taxing the hardware, over my old drive. I can wholeheartedly recommend this drive.

Easy to install. Have installed a couple and have yet to have failure. Solid drive for the money.

Great amount of storage and reasonable speed at a good price.

I have had this product for almost a year now and it has performed admirably. I use it for storing my pc games on mainly and it has worked beautifully. I have played games such as fortnite, Witcher 3, Quantum Break, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Doom and all of these games have performed like their supposed to with my setup. And most importantly, its CHEAP. Get it if you need mass storage

Large capacity, low price reliable hard drive. The speed and ease of installation are the high points.
