Hard drive was easily installed. It performs very well and my system was up and running very quickly.

Fine, basic, solid desktop drive. Performance is more than acceptable. As I recall, this one spins at 7200 which makes it a bit quicker. Occasionally I hear it spin up but mostly it's very quiet. The utility program you can download is not great, but it *should* work well enough to copy from another drive. In my case the source drive had an issue so I needed a more robust utility program. Great drive for the price.

I've never really had any issues with WD HDD's. Installation was a snap in my new Corsair 750 Case. Booted up and have been installing and running games/programs since. Drive is fast and I'm very pleased. I currently have my OS on a SSD drive and all games etc.. on this drive. Of course any drive can fail over time but usually not quickly. So basically this review is mainly positive due to the history I've had with WD.

Large capacity, low price reliable hard drive. The speed and ease of installation are the high points.

I have had this product for almost a year now and it has performed admirably. I use it for storing my pc games on mainly and it has worked beautifully. I have played games such as fortnite, Witcher 3, Quantum Break, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Doom and all of these games have performed like their supposed to with my setup. And most importantly, its CHEAP. Get it if you need mass storage

Pretty much the name of the hard drive "Mainstream" says it all. This is pretty much the standard hard drive you want to get if you need a new one, want a backup or are replacing a dying one like I had to do. This thing has a good warranty and in most cases should last WAY longer than your PC will last anyways. 1TB should cover most people with plenty of room for games, movies, pictures, apps, etc.

Great drive as a replacement to a semi-dead one. Plugged in easy, recognized by system, and fast to re-install the OS. Will probably get another similar version to install 10 or 11 in the near future and run this as a backup / redundant OS.

I needed a new hard drive to replace the one that crashed. This hard drive had more space at 1TB than my previous drive. It was easy to install and very quiet. I would recommend this hard drive.

After a "windows 10 update" caused my system to freeze rendering it useless I decided to install a second WD 1tb drive. My first was in my desktop when I purchased it in 2011. After reinstalling all my software and Windows, I now use my new drive to "mirror" the first drive. I've had it installed for two months now and have experienced no problems. The SATA cable I used also fit perfectly and works fine.

Drive is only 2 months+ old, but so far it's working just fine. Easy to install & setup w/the OS & has plenty of room for movies, music, games, etc. So far I'm happy.

Runs nice and quiet. Seems to run cooler than my last drive. 7200 rpm at 6 Gbps. Overall a fine drive.

The drive was easy to install. It is quiet and fast. There is no cable included though. That's sorry.

My HTPC threw a boot record error . . . ran to Best Buy, picked up this drive for $50 . . . installed Windows 7 Home Pro and the driver for my Silicon Dust tuner without a hitch . . . restored all my audio / video content from the failing drive and now I have tons of space to keep on recording and storing TV shows, movies and songs.

These hard drives are great for everyday uses on the PC. Cheap and quick to install. The installation of these hard drives can take 10 minutes and you can be back up and running your computer. I repaired two of my family computers when their old hard drive crashed and stopped working with these hard drives and they are still running like champs. Would recommend.
