I've used this drive to upgrade a number of older PCs that have platter hard drives in them. After setting them up with this SSD, it runs much faster and for most people, you can get another 3-4 years out of them just from getting rid of the old HD and the speed boost of the new SSD.

I've put several of these into older machines with a clean install of Windows 10. Boot times go from forever to 15 to 20 seconds. Nothing but rave reviews when I've done it for friends. WD is a great brand, of course, competitive pricing, and I've had no problems with them.

WD Blue drives are good budget drives. They aren't the fastest solid state drives on the market, but they're not the slowest. For basic productivity and some creative work or gaming, this will do the trick. Those who need serious performance should look into the Samsung SSD lineup.

Seriously, this little SSD will give new life to an aging laptop. I have installed these drives into 2 six and seven year old MacBook Pros that had become so slow they were barely useable (but in otherwise fine condition), after the upgrade they seem to be much faster in all tasks. Highly recommended.

I decided to get a SSD for my PS4 Pro and went with a WD Blue SSD. There were 6 options : 250GB, 500GB, 1000GB, 2000GB, and 4000GB. The pricing is good in all but the 250GB size (see graph). In the end, given that the Playstation 5 is coming this year supposedly, I went with the 1TB (1000GB) model for the ideal size and price. I have a 4TB hard drive (also WD) for more storage so the 2TB internal SSD did not make sense even though the price/capacity ratio was the same as the 1TB.
In the end the speed of the SSD on the PS4 Pro is incredibly better than the standard 1TB drive HGST model that it came with and I highly recommend it. I will not be buying a PS5 right away so this 1TB SSD will be perfect for another year or two.
In case the graph doesn't look clear:
250GB SSD at $49.99 is $0.20/GB
500GB SSD at $69.99 is $0.14/GB
1000GB SSD at $119.99 is $0.12/GB
2000GB SSD at $239.99 is $0.12/GB
4000GB SSD at $549.99 is $0.14/GB
These are mid 2020 prices and of course will get cheaper with time. I was lucky and grabbed one when it was $109.99 which put my 1TB drive at $0.11/GB.
The speed of these drives is the same regardless of size I'd assume in a PS4, so for the intended purpose, my recommendation is to buy the 1TB SSD for around $110 to $120. Smaller capacities may not good values or big enough for gaming on the PS4 and the larger capacities may be both not necessary for internal PS4 storage or good values when you can get a 4TB WD external gaming hard drive for around $127.99 ($0.03/GB) at Best Buy also (which I did). A 1TB SSD at $110 or so for internal PS4 storage seems to be the sweet spot for mid 2020.
Best Buy was a great buying experience for this SSD option on my PS4 Pro. I'm a happy gamer!

My son wanted a second SSD for the computer he built earlier in the year. He already had one of these WD-Blue drives and it has worked great, so we decided to get him another. It was on sale so that made it even better. The drive is fast and very dependable.

Highly recommend this drive for replacing HDD for PCs which don't require a large amount of storage. Never had an issue with Western Digital drives. The price cannot be beat!

It is your basic SSD drive that works well. Acronis software is provided by WD for cloning that is trouble free. A definite plus upgrade from conventional hard drive. Performing the SSD upgrade is not for the faint-hearted if you've never done it.

My old hard drive crashed and when it did, my brother (a former computer programmer and systems analyst) recommended I replace it with a SSD instead. He said it was faster and runs cooler. Also, that I didn't need any more than 250 GB. It's all true.

This is not the first time I buy this drive. The last one I got lasted me 5 years and just so happened to die recently. from the amount of work I do on it, it has done more then it was worth at the time. Great buy if your in the market for a SDD

Purchased to update my older iMac with an external Thunderbolt boot drive and it's like having a new computer! Boot time is 1/4 of what the internal spinning disk provides. An easy and inexpensive way to get more life out of an older computer.

Used it to upgrade old PC to get some longer use it of it. A noticable improvement in boot times and application work.
I wish it had an application to preform the migration, however I already had one to preform the migration.

Works like a charm, and it is easy to install. While I have not tested the actual speed (I am sure there is one but seems negligible), I cannot notice the difference in booting time between this ssd and an Evo 750 I have on a different computer.

If you've got a 3rd generation Core i3 or better processor, this will make a tremendous difference in your system's performance for just about everything. It'll also help Celeron and Pentium-based systems after 2015, but not as significantly.

I have installed one of these in all 4 computers in the house as boot drives as well as storage for programs that I want to run faster.
Never had any problems with this.

Bought this to expand storage for my PlayStation. Guidance to format for that specific use is available with a little research and it does the trick. Glad I have it - if you have a PlayStation you should too.
