This is your guy. I bought this purely to record my gameplay on and it has done what I needed it to do. Plug and play of course, did not come with any cables so I had do go out and buy one, but not sure if is the norm as this is the first internal hdd I've bought. Bought it June of 2020 and so far no issues. Will update review if I have any troubles/

Security DVR's use internal HDD's to capture video files- and have found the WD Blue, to be as efficient and reliable as the new purple type (made for video) for less $$. Extremely low to no failure issues. WD Blue is relevant to Purple... We use hundreds of hard-drives for commercial CCTV systems- They're solid -

Awesome 2 TB Hard Drive for the price. Can’t even beat the Barracuda HD price wise. I got the HD because it was on sale, but to be honest I was just going to use my PC for my office, so I didn’t need 2 TB of hard drive. But if you play video games, or download movies, this hard drive is a must have for you.

I love WD hard drives, never had a problem with any that I've owned, and there have been and are, many. This one is being used as additional file storage, replacing a 1 TB WD drive that was becoming too full. Easy to install, mount and plug in the cables. You will need a SATA cable (compatible with SATA 6 is my preference, but will work with a SATA 3 cable as well). I've always gotten great service from my WD products.

I purchased this for one of my grandsons who builds computers to put in a build for his brother who was getting ready to leave for college. He has had it at school and finished his summer session with no complaints. He mostly uses it for gaming and it seems to be a great fit for the price point they were looking for and the one that builds really seems to be partial to the WD hard drives.

The hard drive in my newer computer was starting to fail and I needed a replacement quick. Although the drive that was failing was under warranty, I need a hard drive now. Went on line a found this Western Digital drive at a really good sale price. It was in stock at my local store. I ordered it and within a couple of hours I had my replacement. Easy to swap out and it works great!

The fastest HDD you can have, and 2TB of storage is going to hold up for a while before you need to add more storage to your build! I've got this as a 2nd drive for gaming, and could've gone to the black for the longer warranty, but these have done me well for years, I don't see the need to change up

I'm an old timer. I used to buy WD HDDs when they were still in the MBs. It's amazing technology has progressed so fast that you can store TBs of data on something so small. Brand loyalty is not lost on this device, as I'll probably always choose a Western Digital over others. Excellent value!

Usually with HDDs this size the slow speed becomes an issue. But at 5400 this is able to play my emulation games of older systems (PS1/2/PSP era) and can also run some PC games that aren't too crazy demanding without any long loading or stuttering. WD has a reputation for lasting a long time and so far that's proven true for me. If that ever changes I'll edit this review.
