This WD 3 GB hard drive was purchased to upgrade an older HDD. The green features of the drive are a bonus, and there is plenty of room on it for data, programs and entertainment files. The price was right, and you get WD reliability.

I use this and similar drives in a doc. We produce motion pictures and the speed and reliability work just the way we need for what we do. We keep projects separate and swapping out drives in our doc gives us huge flexibility.

I purchased to replace a failing drive and this one added more capacity as well. For my use, simple storage, it has worked great so far after a few weeks of use. Was simple to install in my system, 10 minutes tops.

I owned the 2TB WD Green which I also purchased from Best Buy. They had a great price on the item so I purchased it. It has performed great without any issues, I needed the 3TB for more storage.

I wanted to do a clean install of Windows 10 and was needing more storage space as well. This HD did the trick. Install went well and now I can store more games. HD performs well

Installed in my Win7 X64 box in just a few minutes. Most of this was the time spent cloning my old drive to the new one. This worked without issue, and the new drive is working great. I used GPT formatting, and created an OS partition of about 900mb and a second larger storage partition. I was a bit concerned whether my old AMD motherboard (TA785 A2+) from 2009 would boot from a GPT drive, but no problems there. I have had great luck with my WD drives, and so far this one seems to be another great purchase.

Great hard drive for the price. I have purchased similar hard drive for another computer of mine. I purchased this hard drive to store my hyper-v virtual desktops.

Easy to install and use. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because it does not include a SATA cable. I have plenty of extra cables, so it was no problem for me. However, if a casual user installed it, got home and didn't have a cable, they would have to run back to Best Buy to buy a cable. I guess the old days of including everything you need to install a piece of hardware are gone, at least for this product. Other than that, the hard drive is running as expected after a format with the supplied software.

The drive works perfectly. The description on the box however implies that the drive comes with or provides a web site with free access to software that will migrate the software (including the OS) from an existing drive to the new drive and adjust for different capacities. There is free software to do some file copies but it will not migrate the OS from an existing drive to the new drive. You need to purchase the higher level product to do so. Also there is a limitation to the purchased software. If you are migrating a 1 terabyte drive to the new 3 terabyte drive the purchased software can only double the original capacity so you end up with 2 terabytes of usable capacity on a 3 terabyte drive

seems to be working great. i put it in to my security system. it's quiet and seems to hold alot of data. think i will get another one soon.

Purchased this Hard Drive for the sole purpose of storing music and videos. It works as expected with no delays. Great price too!

Great hard drive for the price. Using it to replace a smaller drive. The cloning software is straight forward.

I was checking out some ways to increase the hard drive space on my PS4 & came across this, now keep in mind that you have to buy the Nyko Data Bank($40) to use something like this with the console, & now I have more than enough space on my PlayStation. The only downside is that you can't put the PS4 in Rest Mode which is really no big deal for me since I never use that feature. If you are interested in doing this with your PS4 check out YouTube for videos on what you need to do.

I did not have an issue installing. I made this a slave hard drive for the computer. It has not giving me any issues. I love all this space. I use it to put my Steam games on. The setup instructions to make it a slave hard drive was not available, but all I really needed to do is go to disk management on Windows and format it. Once that was done, it was good to go.

All I had to do was connect it to the PC and reboot. It was picked up on the first boot and works perfectly.

Works as it should. A little faster than my last hard drive. The extra room is great.

I find western digital drives consistently reliable. This one is a great price for the size.

Great drive if you want to add and expand storage space capacity. Just be aware that because of the size, you will lose some storage space if you want to format and use as a boot drive, unless you are willing to fiddle ALOT on how to do that. I gave up trying and just ended up getting a drive that was fast and under 2TB as a boot and formatted and partitioned the 3TB drive as an added storage drive.

The drive works excellent! It is alot bigger than my old drive! it is really fast!

This computer hard drive was priced extremely fairly for the size. I was able to accomplish all my needs without a big dent in my pocket book.
