This HD is reliable for what you would need with it with a great amount of space. I have used several of these as storage and build options.

Western Digital is always good. I got this one to expand the storage array in my home file server, this one added to the existing storage partition brings it up to 14tb, using a spanning partition. I've had perhaps 3 Western Digital drives fail in the last 20 years, since I got serious about fiddling around with computers. (I've used a lot of them) I've had probably had over a dozen or so of the others I've bought fail, usually from heat. For data storage I usually select a larger capacity and slower RPM, this generates less heat. The drives are still going deliver your data faster than your network connection anyway, especially if your home network is wireless, as most are now days.

This drive performs well and has plenty of storage.

It's a 3TB drive; you really can't say much about it, and WD generally makes good hardware. However, WD Blues were all 7200 RPM for a long time, and this one is not. It's not a deal-breaker, but the lower rotation rate results in a significant performance loss, especially in sequential read/write workloads. Be aware of this when buying. For cheap bulk storage, it's fine, but selling a 5400 RPM drive as a Blue is something I have a serious problem with. There are cheaper internal 3TB drives out there, too, and you can also shuck a larger WD Easystore that costs less money and get a similar drive for less money. Still, I'd generally recommend it because the listing is honest about the rotation rate if you bother to check, and many people probably don't care about speed so much as capacity for the dollar.

The WD mainstream 3TB internal hard drive is great, fast response, easy to install and great price.

My WD 1TB drive on my PC was running out of space, so needed an upgrade. This one was on sale and I've always used WD drives with no issues in the past. Simple installation and was up and running in minutes. Be aware this is a bare bones drive, no cable included.

HD was the easy part. In a Windows MBR environment, it can only address 2.2TB of the 3.0 TB. Users must have a motherboard with UEFI R2.0 capabilities. If the 3.0 TB HD is to be the system (C:) drive, then it is a total re-install with Win 7/8 so it can install the UEFI R2.0 boot manager. If the desktop had already been UEFI R2.0 compliant and the WD hard drive is only a data disk, then plug it in like any other time. There is now oodles of space for photos and image editing software now so purchase of a WD 3.0 TB and subsequent UEFI MoBo was necessary. I would recommend this drive to anyone however they must be aware of its requirements to make full use of it.

My son has already completely filled two 1TB WD hard drives, and at the time I bought it this was the best capacity for the price. I'd have bought the 4GB but the price increment was way more than the increment from 1-2TB and 2-3TB. So far it's working well.

Worked fine out of the box, and still going after a about a month. Price/performance is decent, not too loud or hot. What more can you say? I need a 3TB internal drive quickly, and this one was in stock locally, along with a Seagate (which I have had bad luck with personally).

You can never have too much storage space, and short of the ultra rare Black Friday super special .... that you're never going to be able to find ... Best Buy is your go to store for reliable storage needs at affordable prices.

This hard drive has performed better than I expected. At such a low price I expected a very slow performance. This hard drive is very fast and I assume because it's made by Western Digital it will last for many years.

Normally I used to stay away from best buys computer parts, but the price on these was $20 CHEAPER than newegg. Very happy with best buy having much more competitive pricing lately. Hard drive does everything you'd want out of a STORAGE drive.

This hard drive is fast and quiet. Installation was a smap and I have plenty of storage for my videos and photos.
