I needed more capacity and HDD's are still much less expensive per TB. Western Digital Blue series is a good combination of performance, power efficiency and product quality.

Easy to use and pretty fast for a standard sata internal hard drive. I was able to copy 3 other hard drives to this one in a short time. Got it on sale and the price was crazy low.

Yes I know this drive isn't meant for NAS use, however, I've had mine running for quite a while, and if I power it down, it spins right back up. I have no problems with this side. Very well made, pretty silent, and alot of space. I bought the 4TB version, brings you to about 3.5tb of usble storage after formating.

I had a laptop and was used to external drives (USB 3.0 speeds) and recently built a new desktop. I use NVME as my boot and this as storage. To me, it's faster than an external in accessing/reading/writing. I'm sure there's numbers to support this somewhere but I'm not going to go through all that. I kinda wish these were 7200RPM, but still, good value/GB and even better on sale. It's been awhile since I bought a traditional internal HDD, but from what I remember WD was the best, seems to be the case still.

For the record, I'm a Seagate user, I've used Seagate since before IDE hard drives. I wanted a 4 TB hard drive internal for my secondary drive that I could work on. I do Photography and working from a Network drive is extremely slow. I've been hearing some very good things about Western Digital so I though I'd go ahead and purchase this one. I must admit it has met all of my expectations, it's fast, quiet and hasn't faltered a bit. I'm transferring most of my images over and I've now transffered over 2TB, it hasn't gotten hot and it works like a champ. I'm really happy I purchased it .

Western Digital 4 TB WD40EZRZ replacement of Western Digital 2 TB hard drive close to max of hard drive space and upgrade. Easy to use Acronis Clone Disk Wizard to copy from one drive to another.

Purchased this during Black Friday for my first pc build. Well worth the price I got it for. Installation was easy. 4tb is the sweet spot for a gaming pc in my opinion.

It's a hard drive - it stores stuff. There's not much more to say. It's been a good value for the size vs price (I got it for around $100). Fast enough to stream mp4 video from.

Purchased two of these hard drives to add capacity to my home server. Have installed one and it is working quite well. Will install the other when I purchase a SATA cable which is my only complaint. Why doesn't the drive come with a cable? The Best Buy I bought the drive at did not carry high speed SATA cables so I will have to go elsewhere but the drive works well.

Had to increase my storage for my large music library, so far seems to be working fairly fast for moving through the various music files, have had no issues for the first 2 months of it working in my PC.

At a $60 price point, I'd have to say this is an amazing deal. Just a couple years ago, a 1 TB 7200rpm HDD was $55, and now you can get 4x the storage for basically the same price which is crazy. Sure, it's only 5400rpm but it's more than enough as a drive to store photos and movies, or even as a game drive. If you're looking to build a PC and need more than 1TB of storage, I highly recommend pairing this drive with ~500GB of flash storage as a boot drive and commonly used programs with a ton of extra storage on this 4TB.

I purchased this drive because I needed something cheap to house media files on my Linux server. Installed without a hitch and just works. Shorter warranty than western digital's more expensive Black series drives but I'm fine with that.
