Customers are delighted by the Blue 4TB PC Internal Hard Drive's large storage capacity, reliability, and ease of installation. Many appreciate its affordable price and quiet operation. A small number of customers noted the lack of an included SATA cable and expressed some concerns about the warranty length. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and value outweighs these minor drawbacks.

I needed a backup internal drive for my desktop computer and have always had good luck with Western Digital products. This drive was no exception. It only took me fifteen get it out of the box and up and running. Reasonably priced and reliable. What else can you ask for.

needed more storage space. not ready to go to sshd yet- still a little pricey for me, easy install / quiet / good price . I have purchased WD hard drives in the past- normally get about 8-9 years out of them.

I purchased this to replace two 1TB WD drives because the oldest one was failing MFD 11/2010, close to 15 years and at least 4 systems shifting from game storage to backup. With the second drive having a MFD of 8/2014 I figured I'd pay a little extra and be set for another 10-15 years and purchased this 4tb drive.
I had some concerns with the drive being such a low RPM but the large cache buffer seems to make up for that as performance is on par with the 7200's this replaced.
Another testimony for their longevity is that the drive failure on the 15 year old drive was on the controller board and that if the PCB hadn't failed the drive would still be chugging along no problem.
Almost all of the reviews I was able to find pointed to WD still being the way to go for physical drives and I'm inclined to believe it.

I had purchased the WD Blue 4TB Internal SATA Hard Drive for Desktops to expand my storage (1 for gaming and 1 for media) for my recently purchased HP Omen 30L Desktop (5700G w/6700 XT) as it only came with a 1 TB SSD. Installation was simple and there were no issue(s) formatting the hard drive through Window's partition menu. It was also on sale and my experience with WD has been great over the years unlike Seagate drives. I highly recommend this if you're looking for an affordable hard drive for your desktop.

Home file server doesn't need high-end drives...

This drive was to replace a very old 2TB WD Green drive on a home NAS system The Green was OK but wanted more storage on the server and Green goes for another low-priority purpose. Of course there was a look at the WD Red for NAS systems, but when it came down to it the Blue was on sale, and the specs seemed just about identical to the old Green drive with 5400 rpm. The media server really does not involve a lot of file transfers, mostly just to store video files and play them once in a blue moon when needed - so the higher function Red NAS drive really didn't seem necessary. Always a way to spend more money, that's for sure, but the WD Blue does what I need it to do without overspending. IMHO a hard drive will either work OK for a long period of time, or will show errors and issues very soon after installation. Ran full diagnostic on the Blue before putting it online, and several different diagnostics showed no issues. I don't mind spending more if needed, but the Blue is all I need for media storage. FYI is running on a Fedora server with Amahi system feeding a PLEX front end along with 2 X WD Helium 6TB drives in a Greyhole storage pool. Just thought I would throw that in for credibility. I really do try to research whatever I put in my little home systems before I spend the money, and the Blue was the right price and the right performance.
Peace from Central GA!

My HP PC was running out of memory and needed more. The Technician Specialist tried to find a 2TB on the floor but find anything available. He did try on BestBuy.com, found the only one available was 4TB. I appreciated the time he spent finding what I needed. Now I have more and don't have to worry memory.

Exactly what you would expect from getting a SATA hard drive. As a Mac user, it's important to go to the WD website for some instructions on how to format this drive so that it works--mostly because the Mac OS hides some of the features you will need to use in getting it ready for your storage uses. I've got a lot of WD hard drives, and I've never had a problem with them.
I've been using this drive for a while now, and I have no complaints. Tons of storage, good price, and reliable.
Best Buy has good prices on these drives too.

great so far. i'm currently loading it up with media files. as can be expected, it shows signs of being a bit slower than the solid state drive that i have my OS booting from but it seems like it will be fantastic for the intended use. and since WD has a reputation for being reliable, i trust it will serve its purpose for many years.
it had been a long time since i had installed an hdd and so i initially got worried when it didn't automatically show up. a quick online search showed me what i was neglecting... i had to navigate into disk management to format the drive first... oof!

Bought 4 of these for my NAS in my home office to RAID. No problems setting up, no errors, and everything went right as planned. These drives are quick and reliable as I have used them for many other storage projects. Only reason for 4 stars is that they do click a little more than I would like. Having 4 running together you really can notice them trying to access information.

These Blue label drives were installed into HP Workstations (z840 and z640) and were easy to install and work fine. I am using these drives to store HD TV recordings. The 4TB drive should store close to 420 1-hour HD shows and the 6TB drives about 640 1-hour HD shows or about 4400 standard TV 1-hour recordings.
I just wish best buy would stock the Black label drives (5 year warranty models). These spinning hard drives transfer data a well under the 6gb/s SATA interface rating.(you need SSD to get those speeds then of course you may want pcie interface for another 10% or so bump in speed). I see on Windows 10 Performance (Task manager) the 4TB has 140mb/s read and 125mb/s write rates (to/from SSD drive on same SATA bus).

Tons of space for a reasonable price. My PC was previously all SSD's and I was a bit worried about noise with adding a HDD. So far I haven't noticed any noise at all.

Very good price on this drive piece of cake to install. Too bad it doesn't come with SATA Cable, they just kind of leave you guessing. I'm no rookie so I knew what to get but a beginner wouldn't have a clue and the people at Best Buy computer department didn't either they were too busy looking at their phones to bother helping. They just passed me around like Starbucks.

This WD Desktop Everyday SATA 4TB internal hard drive, was chosen to replace an the original 2 TB HP drive, it notably doubled the total storage space to 4 TB, I have had failures in the past using HP drives and Seagate drives as well. This new WD dive seemed quieter that my old drives and overall operation was smooth as well once I had the new drive installed, the drive spins at a 1/3 lower rev rate than the old drive it replaced. So the lower revs and lower noise will hopefully produce less friction and that should lead to a longer disc life. I even bought a second WD 4TB drive and had it installed in this new desktop, for even more storage because I liked the WD operational properties, I now have doubled my total storage capacity to 8 TB. Until SSD drives are available with this type of capacity at a more reasonable cost, I think this is the only way to go.

So, this is one of those purchases I am glad I made. If you're anything like me, a PC Gamer, you know games on the PC are huge and can wipe out your space. This puts an end to that, gives you plenty of space, its quiet, fast, and very easy to install. I'm getting another one.

We needed a large drive for the office and this filled the bill for a very low price. Installation was a breeze and the included cloning software link really helped. I've been a little hesitant of hard drives for a few years, but you just can't beat them when it comes to space for the price. Been using Western Digital products since the early 90's.
