    I've always purchased western digital drives and only once did one show signs of failing, and it was within the first couple of months. Warranty replacement is quick and easy. Would definitely recommend western digital for any hard drive needs.

    This is the first HD I have had to install (too much music on my old 320GB) I was nervous at first, but the disc started right up and once the transfer of data was complete I was good to go. Works perfectly on my MacBook Pro 15"(late 2009)

    Western Digital is a solid company and makes stable products. I could have bought a replacement drive through Toshiba for less money, but it is worth the extra $8-$10 to purchase a product I trust. It also comes with it's own 2yr warranty.

    I bought this because the hard drive on my laptop crashed and at about the same time,my flash drives were somehow wiped while they were packed up to move to our new house. I had no other back up and I lost hundreds of machine embroidery files. I tried to restore them, but some of them were purchased too long ago and the providers did not have the records on file anymore. Now with the portable hard drive, I feel more secure that my files are safe from future mishaps.
