Worked right out of the box with no issues. I only trust WD nowadays. Seagates are a shot in the dark at best. WD just keep going. I am a technician that installs HDD several hundred times a year. I only trust WD blues or blacks when it comes to drives you can find in a local store. In the 1990s it was Maxtor. Today it is WD. But stay away from the green version. Also, when buying an external WD, be careful. Many times I have come across bad external WD hdd that were listed as blacks. Only to find a green drive on the inside of the external case.

Our laptop fell off a chair and crashed the HD. This product was just right for us. Price was right also. Performance is great. Still some problems with the Windows OS once in a while the PC says it wasn't setup correctly. It wants the key code re-entered

Western Digital makes great hard drives. Once installed in the laptop, WIndows pretty much sets it up during the Windows install. Super easy once installed into the laptop. I found a video on how to replace the hard drive on my model laptop on YouTube.

I put this in an HDD enclosure I already owned. Wii U recommends having an HDD with its own power source (this will preserve the life of the Wii U itself -- DO IT). Mission accomplished, working great. More storage than I need for a Wii U.

I buy several hard drives every month and prefer to use WD drives. They are reliable and the performance is great. I have had a few start to fail before the 3 year mark but we're under warranty and WD took care of it with a larger free replacement.

I purchased this hard drive to use as a back up to my laptop's primary hard drive. It is the same brand and specifications of my primary drive and, in case my primary fails, I swap out this hard drive, which contains a mirror image of my OS and all settings and files, and I am up and running again. A good brand name, which I trust.

I purchased this hard drive after having two previous OEM hard drives fail on my HP lap top. The cost of the Mainstream unit was about $30 more than the replacement cost of another OEM hard drive, but it will be worth it if the unit doesn't fail. I travel a lot, and my lap top takes some unavoidable knocks & bumps. The HP OEM hard drives lasted about six months each. I store all my critical data separately, so the biggest problem with the hard drive failures has been the loss of my lap top for 2-3 weeks. One other advantage of the Mainstream unit is that it was installed by my local Geeksquad, in about 5 days as opposed to 2-3 weeks to have the lap top sent to HP Tech Service. If you've had the hard drive fail on your lap top, I'd recommend at least looking into this option.

So far the HD has performed as designed. On issue however, it is slightly slimmer than the HD it is replacing. As a result, had to put folded aluminum foil in to replace the missing thickness. No kidding, it works.

In the beginning my hard-drive system would freeze up after about 10-15 minutes when it was first installed.. but after a few start ups and about 3-4 days later it got better... now it works like a charm ..I just hope it stays this way...I think it was because it was new and the soft-ware had 2b up-dated ..because now it works fine.

Bought this drive to replace a failed drive in a Toshiba laptop and it worked perfectly. Computer actually runs and starts up faster than when it was new and this was a 6 year old laptop. Can not go wrong.

Hard drives go through wear and tear. its probably the most common hard ware repair on any and all computers. 2nd highest repair on any computer next to viruses. thank you bby for carrying them and having them reasonably priced. :)

I just needed to replace the hard drive in my Macbook Pro, as it is an older system and has many issues. Finding this hard drive and easy install made it easy to restore and continue using it, instead of buying a new computer.

My mac stopped working one evening and turned out it was because the hard drive. I took it to best buy and had geek squad fix it for me. This is the new hard drive they replaced it with and its working great, no complaints.

Needed the drive and shopped stores around with no luck. Best Buy had a good price and next day in store delivery. I walked in and gave them the order # and license and walked out with the HDD; took 6 minutes total. Went into the laptop to replace the failing drive. Cloned the old drive and laptop started right up. I did not need it but there was no 2mm shim in the box for a 9mm replacement but no lost star as I did not need it. Your mileage may vary.

I frequently buy this hard drive for my customers when they bring me a laptop that has had it's hard drive fail. I have yet to ever have someone come back and complain about these drives. WD is a very trusted brand.

This is the perfect replacement for the drive in my Dell Inspiron whose drive failed rendering the machine inoperative. This drive fit the laptop and was able to restore the computer to working order. AS good as new now.

I bought this item for use in making a clone of my internal system drive. The price was good, the purchased drive's interface connection matched the system that I have and it works fine with the cloning app I use.

Purchased this for granddaughter's laptop, which had been repaired by the manufacturer. I took it apart and discovered that they had replaced the hard drive with a reconditioned one. So I figured to replace that with a new hard drive and it works great. It was east to install and worked as soon as I powered the lap top on, installed the recovery discs with no problem and the lap top and hard drive are still going.
