Good quality drive. The ssd cut boot times down to seconds and runs quieter and cooler than a standard hard drive.

WD - Blue PC SSD 500GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive for Laptops This is a 500 GB SSD, it is not 3D NAND. At the size of this drive I see no real reason why this would make a real life difference. Larger drives this is a must but at this size, it’s fine. I installed this SSD in a laptop that I had determined was headed for the recycle bin. An old Gateway with a Pentium P6100 2.00 GHz processor and 3 GB ram. From power on to usable desktop was about 3 minutes. The HD had been optimized and CCleaner had been run to remove anything slowing it down. From the desktop to open any web browser was another 45 seconds of waiting for Google to load. As you can see, this was entirely unusable for any real work. After installation of the new SSD I used Acronis to clone the drive. I wanted real test results, not clean install results. Windows had no issue reactivating with the new drive. A few other programs needed to be reactivated but again this went without a hitch. Ran all updates for Windows, it found 2 new updates after the SSD installation, I did not write them down so I’m not sure if they had anything to do the SSD or just time for them update. With the SSD installed power on boot time was now a respectable 35 seconds with the desktop becoming completely usable in about another 10 seconds. I opened the web browser and it loaded Google in about 3 seconds. I started a few more programs and all of them loaded about 80% faster than before. I ran some read and write tests on the drive. They were not up to spec with what WD states. But I have to remove any negative on this because I’m testing on a machine that is most likely not capable of the bandwidth required to reach the maximum speed of the drive. My read tests came back at 505MB/s with write being 490MB/s. Each time a ran these tests they varied but were vary close to these numbers. Overall if you’re looking for a good drive to revive an old laptop I would say this is money well spent. I changed nothing about the laptop but this SSD and now a laptop that was heading for the recycle bin is being re-purposed and used again. I can now see getting 3 more years of use out of a 9 year old laptop, if the laptop lives that much longer.

I am not technically savvy, but this hard drive was recommended by both my son and brother. I have not been disappointed.
