Reliable and fast

They are reliable and the price reflects it. You pay a little more for the Western Digital name but they make a good drive. This drive isn't going to win any speed awards but it is definitely a upgrade to regular hard drive and that is what I use them for. This year I have done some HDD upgrades for my family and I got these as you notice a difference even compared to a 7200rpm standard HDD. Overall I recommend them and you should give it a shot for a cheaper option to speed up a computer.

It turned out the drive was bad. Because of the age of the laptop there wasn't an HP drive available for replacement. The GS tech worked with me explaining the difference between Solid State Drives and the other drives that could be substituted or used in my old laptop. With the information he provided, I chose the WD-Blue 500 GB SATA Solid State Drive. I couldn't be happier with it and the speed at which my old laptop responds.

Easy install, great speed improvement for laptop

After viewing a few youtube videos I cloned my existing drive to the new one, installed the drive and now my laptop is much faster, especially when opening programs and processing video edits. Total time for the project was about 90 minutes which included finding and watching laptop specific installation videos, downloading free cloning software and disassembling a usb 3 storage hard drive for the hardware and cable to initially connect the drive and complete the clone. After reassembly, everything worked properly.

Best Budget SSD

My kids laptop hard drive crashed early this year when the laptop fell on ground so thought of upgrading it to an SSD. This one was on sale and also not heavy on pocket. So no brainer for the purchase. OS installed quickly and was able to install necessary software in mints. PC's performance has been incredible so far after the upgrade. Very happy with purchase. Definitely recommend for daily use.

Does what it says on the tin

As of writing this review I've only had it for about a month, so I can't really attest to the longevity of this product. If you're looking for a low cost, SSD to help with storage and transfer rates. It's a good way to go.
