Incredible value and speed boost for your system

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My 5 year old desktop was having issues and startup would take up to 20 minutes for Windows to do its thing and be able to use and click anything. Time for do something about it. I bought the SSD because most of the hard drives in my work as home PCs are Western Digital. Came home, plugged it in and after I messed around with the BIOS, I got it to recognize the drive. Download a free app to clone my primary drive and started the process. Once done, again in BIOS, changed the startup drive and rebooted. First reboot took about 5 minutes, so I was OK with it. Ran updates and rebooted. 1.5 minutes. !!! I was happy with that. Next time startup was less than a minute. Wow! So that’s been my average. About a minute to a full reboot and be able to start working on stuff. I kick myself for having waited that long. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend to everyone who has an older that need a boost.

20inch Pavillion Touch Performance increased

Before I would touch a selection or a program and it would take a while to open. Now they all open almost instantly. The western digital acronis cloning tool made copying the drive easy.

Great Replacement Drive

This was an easy swap and my laptop now loads Windows 10 in 20 seconds not 3 minutes. You need to go to the WD website to download the free cloning software which is easy to use. If you are cloning your laptops hard drive you will need a SATA to USB cable.

Speedy little 500GB

This with a M2 installed, boot times are near instant and games are super responsive. Even made downloading a bit faster I believe as I could write multiple games (download all my stuff from STEAM/Bnet/Uplay/GOG) with several streams coming down at once and still loaded over a 1TB of data in just a few hours.

Great SSD, first non samsung

It was in stock and on sale so no complaints. Only issue is the build quality feels lower then samsung and the ssd dashboard was annoying since it had ad's on the right hand side which is annoying and tacky. I'd purchase it again.

Great Value for the Money

I have always been loyal to WD with their Platter drives, and I Decided to give this one a test. The price was perfect for it too it was over 50% off for Christmas. Took it home and reinstalled Windows on it, works beautifully
