Customers are impressed with the Blue 500GB Internal SSD SATA's performance, price, and ease of use, citing faster boot times and improved overall system responsiveness. Many appreciate the ample storage capacity for their files and the straightforward installation process. While some users experienced issues with the included software and warranty duration, the positive feedback on performance and value significantly outweighs these concerns. The drive is also praised for its quiet operation and reduced heat compared to traditional hard drives.

I put this on a build I was making for my brother. He's using it primarily for gaming so I put this 500ssd along with a 1tb harddrive. This SSD is pretty fast. I have a more expensive nvme ssd and you can't really tell a difference in day to day use. Great price too

With the approaching removal of Microsoft support for Windows 7, I thought it was a good time to do a fresh install of Windows 10 on my PC. The WD Blue 500GB Solid State drive worked well. Fast, reliable and quality drive. No problems so far. I highly recommend it.

I got this because the Samsung, my usual, was out of stock.
The WD provides a license to use a partitioning app, I used it to copy the source drive to the WD Blue SSD target. Neither had to be the boot of system drive. My mild disappointment was the app was huge, nearly bloatware, includes many unneeded 'features' and autostarts with Windows. After finishing my migration, I uninstalled the app.
So it wasn't hard to clone the source, and the drive performance seems similar to the Samsung. There is confusion on the warranty though, I checked multiple pages at WD website and no clear answer as to how many bytes written and/or number of years the warranty is valid.

I buy these over the competition. Solid dependable drives. Had too many failures with lower priced drives. These are reasonably priced and no issues with early failure.

Very please with the WD Blue, I have prefered Samsung in the past, but these WD Blue seems to be just a fast. A great buy for the money if you want to go to SSD, which is worth every penny.

I install these drives in my customers computers that are 4 to 5 years old and running slow. Machines perform like a brand-new computer with the installation of this drive. I typically upgrade the machines memory to at least 4 GB as many of these machines were shipped with Windows 7. And now Windows 10.

The WD Blue SSD is a good drive for storage, games, and as a boot drive as well. While it's not the best SSD out there it is one of the top three for the money/performance. If you're looking for a good price for a multi-purpose drive look no further than the WD Blue.

I bought this for use in an old Dell Latitude E600 series laptop from 2012. After I installed the hard drive and loaded Windows 7 on it, I immediately noticed faster boot times. There's also been a significant speed increase with copying files over from USB drives and my external SSD drive. Despite its age, this laptop is still going strong. The same cannot be said for most of these newer machines I've encountered. I bought my tablet earlier this year so I find myself using it less and less as time goes on. But it's still nice to have as a backup machine just in case. Since I had such great success with this purchase, I've decided to pick myself up the 1TB model. I actually have a spare external case lying around at home that should accept it, no problem.

I have been using Western Digital drives for over 30 years, if you have not switch over from an HDD to SSD you don't know what you are missing. First off once you get your SSD installed in your machine, you can go to https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en&p=502 and download Acronis True Image for Western Digital and follow the instructions to mirror your old drive to the new one without losing anything from your old drive. You simply shutdown and disconnect old drive and boot up to new drive and BAM! Your at your login screen for Windows in 7 seconds.

I have had bad luck with WD drives in the past. I needed a SSD for my MacBook and this was the right price for the HD size I was looking to get. So far it has worked perfectly and there hasn't been any issues.

For anybody that is wishing to purchase a new computer because their older computer is running slow, STOP! Just clone onto the SSD and presto, you have a blazing fast computer, especially for those of you (like me) that are impatient during boot up time. You can take a computer that normally takes several minutes to boot up and install on this SSD and have your operating system up and running in under 15 seconds (as long as you have a decent processor). You dont have to have a huge memory SSD, that's what external hard drives are for. This is the perfect size for software to be installed on and run. Leave the large storage devices for exactly what they were designed for, data storage.

I have used many many different manufactors of ssd in multiple diff formats (standard ssd like this one to the nvme versions) WD and Samsung far surpass all others in speed and reliability. I built 50 or so computers in the last 3 years and at first I just went with what gave the best speed for the cheapest price at the time. Now I just use WD or Samsung drives no matter the cost, after having had to replace some of the other drives for failing already.

The WD blue line is the mid grade consumer line, with that the expectations for speed and durability fall in line with that. Setup on an older Macbook pro 2012 was simple and all fell into place. Boot time is a few seconds versus a minute with the mechanical drive. Once booted, definite performance increase with programs and rendering.
