I compared the read/write speed for different manufacturers and WD has the best numbers (545/525 MB/s). I replaced the original disk on my HP laptop (7200 rpm) with this SSD and the boot time went from 90 seconds to 15 seconds approx. I've used it for about 1 year and it definitely worth it to keep using my old laptop at least 5 more years.

I Needed to replace my internal hard drive on my desktop. This has been the third one I've had to replace over the past 10 years. After talking with a best buy employee I decided to go with the SSD drive which would contain my operating system. It was easy to install and now my computer boots up extremely fast. Am very pleased with it. Hopefully it will last for a very long time.

Worked just like I needed it to! Swapped an HDD for this SDD in an old laptop and it runs much faster now. Originally took about 46 seconds to start from a cold boot and now it boots in 15 seconds. Just remember to buy a cable or had drive enclosure to connect it to your computer before installing it (it doesn't come with one).

Upgraded an old laptop with a 7200 RPM HDD (that was getting slower by the day) and this thing gave it new life. Works great and give you nice solid performance at an excellent price. If you have a laptop that's 5 years old or so like I do, but has a decent CPU (mine is an Intel i7-6700HQ), you can vastly increase your performance with a simple $55 upgrade.

I unfortunately over delayed my upgrade to a SSD drive on my Dell laptop until the HDD died. But after adding this drive and reinstalling my software my laptop runs faster than it ever has. Boot up is especially fast and programs load so much faster. I highly recommend anyone with a disc based HDD to replace it with a SSD drive. Other than adding RAM this is the most effective way of upgrading your system.

My HDD stopped working which needed to be replaced so I decided to purchase the WD 500 GB SSD. It's unreal how much faster your operating system is (as well as bootup) when switching to SDD. They are obviously a little more cost switching from HDD to SDD but it is well worth it if you use your PC often.

Huge fan of Western Digital products, and this one didn't disappoint. I swapped my 2010 Macbook pro hard drive for this Western Digital SSD, and now my computer runs faster than it did the day I bought it 11 years ago. I have also installed this same SSD in another 2012 13 inch Macbook Pro, and I had the same results. Highly recommend this SDD!

Bought this as a replacement for a traditional hard drive. Cloned old drive onto this and installed. Started computer and after registering the hardware change in the bios, restarted. The original hard drive took almost 4 minutes to fully boot. This takes about 15 seconds. That alone was worth the price of admission. If that wasn't good enough, there was the price of admission. This was super inexpensive!

Not much to say, it's an SSD that replaced a mechanical old school HDD. This thing is crazy faster. Question really is, would you really see the difference in the faster ones they sell. I mean, ok, so maybe instead of booting in 15 seconds it does it in 12. Instead of opening a big spreadsheet in 4 seconds, it's 3 or 3.5. Whatever, home use, not a big production workstation. Works great!!!

Fast. Reliable, reasonably priced. Slightly slower read/write and iops than the Samsungs, but a great drive at a lesser price point. Same warranty and similqrTBW ratings as the Samsung. Unless you can count milliseconds, this drive will give you great performance for less money.

SSD drive with expected performance increase. If you are suffering from slow boot ups and windows sagging, give new life to your PC with an SSD drive. With an official Western Digital drive you can use Western Digital version of Acronis disc wizard to clone and backup your existing windows image for seamless transition to new drive. Or, simply install and do new OS install wtih downloaded media.
