My mom's nearly seven year old laptop did not qualify for an upgrade to Microsoft Windows 11. Since she does not use her laptop too often, I did not want to purchase a new laptop for her. With that being said, her laptop ended up being the first computer in our family to have Linux Mine installed as a daily driver. The WD Blue SA510 SATA SSD 1TB ended up being an inexpensive purchase, and installation was very simplistic with the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit that I purchased the same day. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

Bought to replace another well known brand ssd that failed in two months for my security cam system. So far this one is holding up well. System recognized and formatted right away. No messing around what so ever.

This drive is so fast, I feel like I have a new computer! What a huge difference, I wish I had done this long ago. This drive has higher specs and outperforms other cheaper SSD drives, but the small price difference is well worth it.

This review is just one step above reviewing a drink coaster. The only difference is this thing plugs into a motherboard, a NAS, or an external drive caddy, then stores data, while a drink coaster is what you have left if this device bricks. Thankfully, two years later and I still have a hard drive. The price was right, and it still works. So great. 9/10 would buy again if a drive other than this one fails.

It's a standard 1TB SSD hard drive. WD Blue is a great brand and the PC I built with this storage is running great. Highly reputable and recommended brand choice.

This is a really good SSD for an affordable price. I had to replace my son's SSD in his laptop and have never had an issue with it! It does not have an aluminum housing, it is made of plastic but it does seem like a high quality plastic. I would definitely recommend if you're looking to replace an older SATA mechanical drive thats failing.

WD drives have never let me down, their internal and external drives have always lasted the longest out of all the manufacturers I have tried in the past. I have used this specific SSD in three separate computer builds and have been happy with it each time. Its well worth the price and is noticeably faster than HDD's. The only time I wouldn't recommend this drive is if you wanted to spend a little more for a NVMe drive instead
