Bought this WD Blue SA510 1TB SSD drive at BestBuy on Aug. 19, 2022. Was using it to store music digital sample files on my computer. Music sample files take up a lot of space but are not accessed very often. Once loaded they are only being read. Absolutely no abuse occured. This SSD went out today March 8. Not even 7 months. Very frustrating. Needless to say, I can not recommend this SSD at any price. Buyer beware.

Fantastic Product- Computer operates so much faster now!

Added this as a second drive to store data , Initially it was good but slowly my pc started to develop stuttering . After less than 3 months it literally died . The pc motherboard wont even recognize it. During a file transfer it suddenly froze, then 1 of the partition became un usable and asked to be formatted, the format never could be completed and then suddenly entite drive with all partition just vanisehd. Not even listed in the bios anymore. Stay away from wd ssd. Their hdd used to be super reliable but ssd is the worst i ever used. Even worse than non brand units.

Dont like would like to geta refund for it and it does not work

The drive died a little over a month after I started to use it. Western Digital's support was extremely slow (ended up taking 3 months to get a replacement despite). They also initially offered me an M.2 drive (not compatible and it took 2 weeks for me to convince them that an M.2 was not the same as a 2.5" SATA) and ended up replacing it with a NAS drive (which can't be used as a boot drive without a lot of work).

If you need a ssd I recommend this one lits of space

I purchased 4 of these drives and after a couple of months with very little use, 3 out of 4 failed without any sign or anything that would suggest that they were bad. They were cheap enough to consider it a loss, I’m just fortunate that I didn’t store any valuable photos or videos on them as they would’ve been unfortunate. I would not recommend these drives as they are not safe or reliable.

I really can't go lower. Western Digital has always been my go to for anything storage for over 20 years. Today this drive completely quit after no usage. I hooked the drive up, copied files from an old backup HDD. The drive then sat idle for 1 month and just quit. Nothing in BIOS, NOTTA. I will be doing RMA. Maybe the last WD I'll buy, you have been good to me but farewell old friend.

It was running very well, but all of a sudden it turned off and I tried everything to get it fixed. I thought it was the cables but I contacted the company and they told me it failed.

This SSD died less than two months after purchasing, it was working for at first but it randomly died and never was detected as a boot drive ever again. It wont show up on either of my pcs, ive tried every sata port and nothing ever shows up in my bios or the windows installer. I dont get why it died but it was working just fine for the first month and a half

This product failed with in days of me cloning my information to it. I didn't have disk encryption enabled, so sending it back for a replacement wasn't a option. I've been working with WD since the late 90's. Unfortunately, I think that time has come to an end.

Only buy if you want heart ache. They can turn into bricks (i.e Bios won't even find it) with no warning. I lost 2 right at the one year mark. Hopefully I can get something for the warranty but now I have to work through data recovery from backups.

Literally bought this today. Laptop doesn't recognize it. The wd dashboard sees it. But it just wont format it. Chatted with wd customer service and the lady not only ignored what i told her the issue was, but ignored what i was saying entirely. Worst cust service experience from a tech company. Gonna return tomorrow for a samsung ssd

Been using this drive for a little over a month and have come to the conclusion that this is just a bad drive. Ever since installing it, Windows 10 is constantly lagging and crashing on my computer. After running numerous tests and scans, I do know for a fact that software is not the issue… Looking for a SSD? My suggestion: use different brand.
