50% Failure rate after 6-7 months due to faulty fw

Remainder survived long enough for WD Firmware update. This is a known issue. Spend the extra on a Crucial or Samsung.

Dead after 4 months

Today its no where to be found. I tried to plug it into another slot and power source but still no luck. It is not showing up in disk management.

This drive failed just over 30 days from installation. it was not able to be detected by the BIOS on that system or another that I tried it in. Western Digital also makes the warranty process more difficult than it needs to be.

Instead it was some day delivery. Thursday !== Tuesday. When first connected to my laptop, it failed to initialize due to "fatal device hardware error." Not a good experience.

Best Buy Customer service has degraded.

Was unaware Best Buys return policy dropped to 2 weeks after discontinuing Elite member program. Have to go through warranty. Will no longer buy from Best Buy.

Dead After 2 Months

WD is supposed to send me another, but I went back to Best Buy and bought a SATA hard drive because now I don't trust the WD SSDs. I quit buying Seagate because of failures so I hope I don't have to stop buying Western Digitals too.

WD SA510 SSD Failed

It died out of nowhere

I’d recommend the Samsung evo I’ve had that for almost 2 years and it hasn’t shown any sign of failure
