The drive failed during gaming. My system is a dual boot Windows/ Linux with Linux installed on a separate SSD. Linux is unable to read the drive and Windows is unable to boot from it. Forensic software is unable to read it. All signs point to a hardware failure that really should not have occurred 1 year into use, especially an SSD.

This WD Blue SN570 1TB SSD is the perfect companion for anyone needing increased storage with reliable read/write speeds for video editing and the casual gaming. It arrived in simple packaging with only the warranty info and no M2 screws or heat sink so be mindful of that if your pc/laptop does not have extra. I did have to invest in both the screws and heat sink but I wanted the extra heat protection as I'm using this drive primarily for gaming storage and video/photo editing software. The SSD installed very easily into my laptop internally and also in formatting and partition. I moved several games, video software and edits, from my primary drive to the WD SSD and had it completed within minutes. I was impressed with the ease and speed of transferring these large files and reinstalling some of the games. Once everything was installed and ready to go to work, each program/game loaded very quickly without any lag and performance was actually a little better than my primary drive previously. Having this SSD installed allowed me to free up a ton of space on my boot drive which also speeds up the overall speed of my laptop. I am vert happy with the WD SSD and will probably invest in more over time to increase speed and storage of my laptop and wife's desktop.
