For the money its a great m.2. Obviously youll want to be sure to format it accordingly and imo the speed differance between this and a samsung m.2 of the same size is negligible.

Western Digital's Blue drives are about as workmanlike a storage solution as you can hope to find. They're not exceptionally fast, nor do they come with a host of specialized features or attractive styling. But they are sturdy, affordable, and easy to work with. And the SN570 carries on this tradition. The drive has a fairly basic single-sided layout without any kind of heat spreader or other cooling solution, so installation is unlikely to be an issue in just about any platform with space for a 2280 module. No mounting screws are included in the box, which is pretty typical but worth pointing out in case the machine you want to install it in didn't come with any extras. In my case I used it to fill out the second SSD slot in my daily driver laptop, and installation only took about ten minutes total. As expected there were no issues initializing the drive and it offered a total of 930gb of extra storage (the remainder is reserved for overprovisioning by the drive controller.) As far as performance goes, it's acceptable but certainly nothing to get excited about. Theoretically the drive is capable of reaching speeds upwards of 3000mb/s, but any time it gets up around 2000 it starts heating up a fair bit and ends up throttling back down. It likely would have performed a bit better if I installed it in a desktop with a heat spreader to keep temps under control, but that feels a little bit excessive here. Write speeds fare a little better but run into their own issues with the included cache, which uses SLC flash rather than the DRAM you might find in higher tier drives. On the one hand this does mean that the drive is less likely to lose data in the event of a sudden power outage, definitely a plus if you happen to be one of the content creators they're marketing this towards, but it's also slower to empty out and isn't large enough to provide a noticeable improvement for larger operations. As such you might want to think twice if you plan to use this as a boot drive. It's certainly better than a SATA drive or hard disk, but it would definitely end up chugging in that role. And... that's about it. The days I spent testing the thing were about as mundane as you can get, with no real surprises in performance or temperature to report. And for a large storage drive aimed at content creators, that's definitely a feature rather than a bug. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to expand their storage without having to resort to older tech.

I have a 4TB SSD in my computer with a spare NVMe slot that I popped this into to. It's great having additional storage that's super quick speed and don't have to worry about an HDD suddenly failing. The fail rate is arguably much less with SSDs in general. Transferring files between this drive and other drives is super quick. Setting it up is easy. I have it set up as extra storage but I'm sure if you put Windows 10/11 on it it will install pretty quickly.

I installed this ssd as my main disk (c:) because I edit videos on 1080p and 4k resolution 60 fps, I really need a fast memory in order to edit and render big files without errors, my CPU is an intel i9 9900k with 32gb of ram (3200 MHz) and I can tell the difference when using a SSD sata or even HDD. I have another M.2 ssd and sharing files between them is insanely fast, I transferred a 10gb video in les than 5 seconds. When transferring from a memory other than M.2, the transfer speed is going to depend on the speed of the memory we are transferring from, what I mean is that the SSD M.2 can read an write fast, but the other device speed is going to affect the transfer speed. I haven't had any issues with temperature and the OS which is Windows 10, works flawlessly and really fast. It is important to mention that the mother board where the memory is going to be installed needs to be compatible with the memory because a M.2 slot is needed, there's a lot of information on internet that can help you if you're not sure if this memory is compatible with your PC, if you can find the mother board brand and model, you can look for the specs that will tell you if so. I think that 1 tb is a good amount of memory and using this WD SN750 for installing the OS it makes thing more faster and if you work with big files such as videos or programs that require fast file transfer speeds, this memory can help you, it is clear that some other factors play a role in file transferring, but I think that this memory is a huge improvement, highly recommended.

    Made My Aging PC Faster

I installed this into an aging PC, replacing its Serial ATA SSD. NVMe SSDs are no joke when it comes to speed. They utilize the PCIe bus, allowing for more data bandwidth with respect to SATA bandwidth. The SN570 supports PCIe 3.0 NVMe 1.4, which is now two generations behind with 5.0 in play, but it is still pretty darn fast for everyday use. The PC I installed it into is a prebuilt that has PCIe 3.0 support and a couple of M.2 slots. I did a clean install of Windows into the SN570, and from a cold boot it’s immediate how much faster the PC runs. Assuming that the outgoing SATA SSD is pushing around 500-600MB/s, the SN570 is pushing close to 7 times that speed (data read). Keep in mind that your motherboard must be at least PCIe 3.0 to attain these speeds. This upgrade alone is the single best upgrade you can do to speed up an aging PC, and with the cost of SSDs coming down in price, it’s quite a bargain. It reminded me of when we transitioned off of HDDs with the introduction of faster SATA SSDs, back in the day. From a bleeding edge standpoint, PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 are here, which effectively are double the data rates from its next older sibling. 5.0 is very, very new and fast, but very expensive, and 4.0 has been around for at least 3 years now. Unless you’re looking to push the envelope with a new build, going GEN3 is not a bad choice for everyday use. And the SN570 improves on its predecessor, the SN550, increasing read/write speeds further, and at an affordable price

This is a great upgrade to any computer with a NVMe slot. I upgraded a new Dell Inspiron i3 desktop and it truly made it a different computer. It originally had a WD Blue 1tb 7200rpm drive that made the computer almost unusable. I first updated to an older Crucial SATA SSD drive and it helped but this SN570 was multitudes faster than even the SATA SSD. From tests it was running around 1000 MB/s both read and write. I believe the drive was slowed down by the computer but it was still plenty fast enough to make the computer so much faster. There is no lag anymore in startup, opening programs or user inputs. My only problem was cloning the original WD Blue HDD drive to this SSD. It took until the 3rd try with the WD Acronis free program to clone correctly. The first time it wouldn't boot. The second time it was missing vital windows files, 3rd time worked perfectly. I'm not sure what happened but I'm happy with the end result. The drive was also as simple as it gets to physically install and can be done by anyone who can hold a screw driver. I would highly recommend this drive.

I have several WD Blue SSD's in use in various computers and have found them to be easy to install and reliable over time. This drive proved to follow suite and installation was a breeze, fitting the location perfectly. It ended up being very fast also, reaching pretty decent speeds, even compared to a 980 Pro drive I have in the same machine. The speed of this drive was within a few percent of the other drive and the speed difference was not noticeable in normal use. Moving nearly a GB of data took only a few seconds and I am completely happy with the drive. I have used Corsair, Samsung and other drive brands, but WD has been the most compatible of the name brands with both hardware and software. I had some problems getting some older machines to recognize some drives but WD drives have never given me a problem. I guess I should settle on them for everything.

The WD Blue SN570 1TB SSD is a fantastic upgrade to any computer running a traditional mechanical hard drive or to replace an existing smaller capacity SSD. Just make sure your computer has a compatible M.2 SSD port, and you're off to the races. The drive cam securely packaged, and was very easy to install. I did have to create a boot disk using the Windows go into my PC's BIOS and disable RAID in order for my machine to recognize the device. Also, if installing the SSD as your boot drive on a Windows PC, you will need to create a Windows USB boot drive using the Windows media creation tool. This is a simple process, and many good tutorials are available online. The one issue I had with the device, and my reason for 4 stars vs. 5 stars, was the failure of WD to include hold down screws and spacers. My PC did not have these, because I was installing the SSD in a machine that had only a traditional HDD. I first checked with Best Buy, and then ordered twice from an online retailer before getting what I needed to complete the install. WD could supply a few standoffs and screws in the two sizes normally encountered and make this a complete package for just a few pennies. It would have made my installation a 30 minute affair instead of dragging on for most of a week over a standoff and a screw. Overall, this SSD accomplishes exactly what one expects from an SSD. Extremely quick boot times and nearly instantaneous file access without the noise of the traditional spinning disc. The large 1TB capacity is also excellent for most users. Unless you're doing lots of video editing, storing large numbers of movies and TV shows, or have a huge photo library, this size should be sufficient. Best of luck choosing an SSD for your machine. If you pick this one, you won't be disappointed, just make sure you have the hardware to install!

Looking to upgrade your storage? Looking to save and load files fast? We’ll look no further this Western Digital Blue SN5700 comes in hitting speeds up to 3500! I used this PCIe ssd to test Adobe creation files. The speed was noticeable as things came down to compressing and saving and loading! What used to take me hours on a traditional HDD now took 25 minutes! These are massive files I was working with so the 1 TB fit the need perfectly. I wanted to test it even further so I wiped it and then put the OS on it. It started Windows 11 up in 9 seconds start to finish! Seriously this thing crunches data and I highly recommend if you are looking to expand your storage needs.

Having installed something similar into my PlayStation 5 in the M2 drive, I was more than prepared to install this in my laptop. First and foremost, I made sure it had an M2 expandable drive. Otherwise it was all for nothing. Turns out it did but I had to call them manufacturer just to find that out. After that I got my small set of tools and got to work. Simple click and connection, put the laptop back together. Together turn it on format, the drive and away we go. It was just a simple on my laptop as it was on my PlayStation 5. The read right is fairly comparable, and the performance is very fast. Not the least bit disappointed. And I get more storage.

The WD Blue SN570 packs 1quite a punch. It holds 1TB of data, with transfer speeds of up to 3500MB/s. It also comes with a 5-year warranty, which is awesome. Installation was quick and easy, then installing Windows felt like it took no time at all. I wish I had timed it, but I would guess the installation and setup of Windows took about 10-12 minutes. Just keep in mind that this is an M.2 drive, not a SATA drive, so if you haven't upgraded your computer in a while, ensure that is actually has an M.2 port on the motherboard.

The Western Digital Blue series is one of five color coded families of computer storage, and sits between Green and Black - the three designed primarily for home use. The SN570 has read speeds up to 3500 MB’s per second and on my Windows 10 PC I was able to get around 2500 MB’s per second reads and writes using the Black Magic Disk speed test. I was able to notice a significant difference in Windows load times compared to a SATA ssd. Editing videos with Adobe Premiere was smooth with no dropped frames playing through the timeline. Installation was easy, simply slide the drive into the M.2 connector and screw it down and format it. I’ve read several reviews of the SN570 NVMe that say that WD does not include cloning software; however, this is incorrect. Navigate to the download support section https://support-en.wd.com/app/products/product-detailweb/p/2673 where you will find Acronis for WD that will allow you to clone your existing drive to this one as well as the Western Digital Dashboard which provides tools to keep your drive updated and working properly. I really like the SN570 NVMe SSD and highly recommend it to friends. The price is competitive, it has a five-year warranty and comes from one of the most recognized drive manufactures in the business.
