Was looking for a fast but affordable external drive to store all my PS4 games on my new PS5 when it comes out in a couple weeks. This has a 7200rpm 3.5" HDD with USB 3, so it's a perfect partner to run PS4 games on the newest console. This is way faster than the hard drives in both the original PS4 and PS4 pro, so your games may end up loading even faster on this than your internal drive. Definitely recommend - 8TB of fast storage for 179 is perfect.

I picked this up on a great sale and it has been the center of all my media backups. The USB 3.2 speed was a must have for my new pc build and it let me back up my old 4Tb expansion drive in just about 3 hours give or take. I'm able to read games fairly quickly off it too on my PC including Battlefield 1, Warzone, GTA V, and Cyberpunk (though I still recommend an SSD if you play any of these titles frequently, especially Cyberpunk). For lighter titles like overwatch or rocket league it doesn't even break a sweat.

Good amount of space for many games, videos. 8gig size I get 250MB/s.

Super fast, and it looks cool too. Costs a bit more for this model compared to other WD hard drives but the speed increase is worth it.

Bought this drive for use with PS5. The drive works as advertised! It is fast, quiet and has plenty of storage.

Got it to store all my digital PS4 games to play on my PS5 Pro. I’ve downloaded a little under 100 games so far with no issues and still have about 6TB of storage left.

Excellent choice for creating backups of NAS devices such as Synology NAS via USB connection. Connected to a USB 3.0 device I saw over 100 MB's transfer speeds which is very good. On top of this unit having a fast internal hard drive, this enclosure has a built-in cooling fan which is essential for reliability.

It works perfectly. It does have a fan sound, but it’s quieter than the fan of my computer, so I don’t mind it.

Works great! Plugged in to ps5 and formatted quickly and worked flawlessly so far. Max capacity that ps4/ps5 will support for external.

Well-built external hard drive. Good for long-term storage since it is NOT an SSD. If you have important documents, photos, etc. that you need to back up this drive is an excellent choice. Before you start using the drive, check to see how it came formatted out of the box. You may need to re-format the drive into the format you normally use before you start using the drive (mine was formatted as exFAT and I reformatted to NTFS).

Makes loud thumping noises. Very fast transfer speed and the cooling fan is virtually noiseless. I’d suggest the 8TB for 180$ or less.

I'm very happy with this hard drive. I bought it for use on Xbox One X. very fast. enough space for my games. I recommend it.
