Runs cool, quiet, use for network shared and secondary backup. All I own are BLACK series--reliable (two blacks of mine lasted over 14 years).

Fast and very happy with the purchase. Plugged into my PS4, had the PS4 format it to the correct file system for ps4 storage, and has worked flawlessly.

I did a full format before using it, to be sure there a no bad sectors. This took a very long time, however I feel it was worth it for the peace of mind.

I have 4 WD_Black external USB drives. 3 are 5TB and average 30-35MB/s. This one at 8TB averages 3-4 MB/s. It's literally 1/10th the speed of the other drives, formatted the same (APFS, tried NTFS and exFAT too just in case). Tried it on 5 different computers just in case. Just avoid.
