Cheap spinning rust, and lots of it.

I haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability. But for lots of storage where the speed of an SSD isn't necessary, this is a pretty good deal.

Every external hard drive that has ever given me trouble has been a Western Digital. But this has been the worst. If it sits inactive for longer than 15 minustes, it disconnects, starts blinking and needs to be unplugged and restarted in order to use. The only positive is that after going through this annoying ritual, my data is still on the drive to be accessed. I've stopped using this garbage drive and keep it is an emergency archive only. I wish I had never purchased this item and I will never purchase a Western Digital product again.
