I bought this to install my PS4 games on and to be able to play them directly from the device on my PS5. It works great, isn’t loud, but does make some noises every once in a while while playing the games from it. It works great on the PS5, and had a seamless set up.

Drive is fast and reliable. I haven't had the chance to use the USB charging ports, but at 7.5 Watts, they appear to be very useful. I am looking to buy another!

I purchased this for my gaming PC and PS4 and it works great. The speed is perfect and I have no lagging when I play a saved game from this drive. You have to go up 8TB to get the speed as your drive on your computer but it is worth the investment plus you have a huge amount of space for games.

This was surprisingly fast. It is a mechanical drive, and I only use it for backups, not as added storage for gaming, but yeah, I would (will?) buy again.

Bought as BB DotD, good price. I needed more drive space for the PS5. Designed for gaming, faster transfer rate. Doesn't overheat, reliable external drive.

Works great for my Xbox Series X, it transfers games between the internal at a solid rate of 1 gigabyte every 5 seconds. So I can transfer a new Series X game from the external to internal rather quickly. As well I keep all my original One games on it and works great.

HAVING EXTRA 8TB STORAGE IS ALWAYS GOOD. TAKES 5~10 SECOND WAKE UP THE DRIVE & ACCESS..BUT NOT TO BAD.

It's a little noisy. Sounds almost like a refrigerator- humming. I only hear it at night, when everything is quiet. I purchased it for extra storage on the PS5, and it works perfectly for that. I probably could alleviate the humming if I laid a cloth underneath it. I have it sitting on the shelf of my entertainment center.

Using this to back up several devices. 8TB is A LOT of space so that's perfect for what I needed (backing up the family's old laptops, computers, etc that will probably stop working soon but no one has recovered all the family photos/ videos). It's not extra fast like my smaller 1TB SSD used for digital photography but I can let it transfer files in the background while I do other things so its no problem. Hopefully it continues to work well, I'm very happy with it so far.

I purchased this drive to serve as extra storage for my PS4 Pro. The drive runs very smoothly, and I have not had any issues at all. Having an additional 8 TBs of storage has made it easier for me to have all my favorite games ready to play. I highly recommend this drive!

This is the ultimate hard drive for adding to a PS5. Gives you a huge amount of storage for PS4 games - and eventually it should work for PS5 games as well when sony makes this update. The drive is quiet and as fast as you can get at this size.

Bought this for PS5 storage. Great option for saving game data and easy to transfer back to the PS5. Also Great price because it was on sale.

WD Black external USB 3.2 gen Hard Drive! Awesome pick up. Yes Hard Drive still here! This is fast enough for all the gaming. Load time is not able to compared to SSD. But for sure it great gaming option at highest volume.

I’ve been searching everywhere for quite awhile to new Hard Drive but never had an External Hard Drive & I’ve hot the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB on my PS5 & needed more storage & this baby DEFINITELY helps & is DEFINITELY worth the buy!!
