4tb drive formats out to about 3.7tb. 5400 rpm spindle speed, seems slower. Needed a replacement for a failed drive and this one was on the shelf. Meets that need.

Sector size and implications of size are not disclosed to consumers on product specs. Found out after it was installed.

What started out as a 4TB ended up being a 1.6TB thanks to WD software. Just use it as an extra drive, not a start up drive.

Not a bad hard drive, but overpriced in comparison to other retailers.
