Customers often highlight the easystore 10TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive's massive storage capacity, ease of setup, and excellent price. Many also appreciate its convenient USB 3.0 interface and quiet operation. The compact size is another frequently praised aspect. While some users wish for built-in encryption, the positive feedback on other features outweighs this concern.

I shucked this drive for my network attached storage. Had really hoped to find a red drive but ended up with the white label WD100EMAZ. It worked great for what I needed it for but I ran into issues.
This drive utilizes the 3.3 volt wire from the power supply to keep the drive in a perpetual reset state making it unusable. After pulling my hair out for several hours I finally found the right thing to google to find out what the issue was and how make this thing work. Many people are using a molex to sata adapter to bypass the problem, I however found it easier to carefully pull the orange wire out of my power connector and tape it back onto the bundle. This fix is safe and free and most importantly reversible.
Once I figured out the fix this drive burned in nicely and works like a charm and for half the price of a bare drive.

Purchased as a deal of the day so the amount of storage was a great deal for the price. Really no setup required, just plug in via USB and transfer speeds to move files to the device is pretty fast with USB 3.0.

Nice storage. Quiet, fast data transfer. Plug and play both mac and windows. So far stable data storage after transferring 6TB. Placed 20 years of photos for quick access off the internal drive. May purchase another for back up only.

Recently purchased to serve as an accessible backup location on my network. Music, photos, etc... add up fast and the smaller drives were getting too cumbersome. Transferred everything to this for local storage and will eventually get all the cloud storage synchronized as well. Pleased with the transfer speeds, the access times and of course the large capacity of this unit. If you need a solid local drive for large amounts of storage, give this one a shot.

These Easystore drives are amazingly quiet compared to the same sized MyBook drives. Not sure the difference internally, but you notice the lack of vibration on the desk. Lots of storage and pretty fast 145MB transfer speeds.

This is a hard to beat deal. Apparently, this item is only available through Best Buy. It is definitely the cheapest option I could find.
The unit itself is attractive and fits in with my other AV gear. Hooking it up was easy - plug in the power supply and attach the USB 3.0 cable and that's it. It was immediately recognized by Windows 10. I transferred some files from another disk and the write speed is pretty good. Since I'm using it to store video files for my Plex server, it doesn't have to be a speed demon.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend this external hard drive.

If you need storage this is a great way to go. I copy my system Monthly and store it in my Gun safe. Just got to remember to put it back! its cheaper than a Internal Drive too.

I purchased this drive last year for my Plex videos, I purchased a 6tb (different model) same brand around the same time for my audiobook collection. After I transferred all the media from the smaller drives (which were the portable 2tb/2tb/4tb WD elements) all of the drives except one failed.
I run this drive 24/7 for Plex and so far it has been good. I wish SSD in large capacity were not so much $. I bouhgt the newest to back-up both of the other drives. Transfer speeds were pretty fast, it averaged about 150mbps. I am happy to finally have one backup for most of my media now. Tired of having 5 little drives and having them fail. Will update this review if anything changes.

Excellent for the price I paid. ($159 pre-pandemic). However, for a more solid drive I prefer the Seagates. I have more than a dozen 10-TB externals I use as archive/backup drives. This model has been excellent. I have three or four of them.
But post-pandemic prices causing chip shortages and other electronics manufacturing costs to have really inflated prices made me look elsewhere for archival solutions. I now backup on-site NAS to off-site NAS for a more cost effective solution.
I can't complain about the product, but I still prefer Seagate in all respects.

Just to put this out there, I did NOT buy this for the reason it was intended. I'm putting together a large NAS system and wanted all 10TB drives in my NAS. The average price on a single 10TB HDD is more than twice as much as this product. So I bought 4 of these, extracted the HDD from the inside and voila! The HDD inside is just a normal 3.5" internal HDD. Open it up, remove the accessories and you are set.
I then took the old 2TB drives that came out of my old NAS, attached the accessories to them and put them in the enclosure. So, now I have turned my old internal HDDs to external HDDs. Such a deal!
The drives seem reliable so far, but we'll see.

99% of users will use this as it is designed a usb drive that is portable - but I use them in my server - I shuck these drives and use them as a standard sata drive. It is easily shuckable, stays cool, runs faster and lasts longer since there is no plastic cover to retain heat. All in this is a very good drive just remember that it isnt 14tb usable space as many commenters on the other usb drives it is a bit less but still a massive drive.

I have been looking for an external hard drive for a while. I needed a very large capacity drive to eliminate several drives on my desk. This drive was the answer. Quick setup, super easy plug and play. The drive is extremely quiet. Read and write speeds are over all, not too bad. It’s just for storage so I’m not too concerned about that. And for the price, I really can’t complain! Great drive for the price.
