Wanted to upgrade my backup capacity from 4TB to the 14TB for all of my files, programs and huge photo collection. The install is very simple, and the WD software download makes automated backups simple and reliable.

I bought this to download my movies collection on the 14 TB size hard drive. Great value for the size of the Hard drive. Easy to connect to your computer. The hard drive is compact in size. Wester Digital have been making hard drives for years, so it’s a reputable company that makes good quality product.

WD makes the best external storage. This particular model has plenty of memory but you can find even more, or less, as your needs require. I have founs them to be highly reliable over the years and there is virtually no setup to them. They are very easy to use and are as reliable as they come.

I've used other brands before but WD have always been the most reliable in my experience. The price per TB on this drive was a really great value. It's plug and play. The speeds with USB 3.0 are pretty decent. It's not the fastest but for my use case speed wasn't as a high a priority as the price.

there isn't much to say. It's a 14TB HDD in an enclosure. I use this to store my local backups as I don't need a NAS and it works as advertised. IOPS is decent. I'd say it's probably a typical 7200RPM drive but I could be wrong. The only thing to note is the HDD is LOUD. Very LOUD. The rubber feet do nothing to dampen vibrations and it makes a very distinct WD Grinding noise. I've confirmed that there isn't anything wrong with the drive but still... I'd recommend this drive if you need long term storage and aren't super obsessed with noise. If you hate the stereotypical computer noises, don't buy this.

I have purchased several of these of various sizes. This is my second 14TB. They are plug and play and work very well. They have an external power source and a USB, both of which are needed for operation.

Great external drive offering lots of storage, high performance (for an external mechanical spinning drive), and high reliability, at a great price when on sale. Have had several deployed in 24/7 use for over a year without issue.

I picked up two of these drives for backup purposes. Both drives were stress tested for48 hours and made it through with flying colors. Given that I picked them up for 200 dollars a piece, I am more than pleased.

I had a patchwork of older 1 TB and 2 TB drives that needed to be consolidated and replaced. This 14 TB fits perfect. Big storage. Small package. Good price. Hopefully it will hold up quality-wise over time...

Got this on the Black Friday sale for $190 which is an insane value for the amount of space it has. It is a CRM drive, which is also rare to find unless you're getting external hard drives above 8TB. It is shuckable if you're into that. I personally use mine as is as I also use it as a media center connected into my Sony X90CH TV. Speeds are pretty decent, at top speed I can hit about 200 MB/s read speeds. Two cons so far: - When watching a movie earlier today, the movie froze and the TV would no longer play it. Unsure what went wrong, will be trying to troubleshoot it tomorrow. - The included WD Discovery software won't install. As soon as you try it simply says "installation failed, try again later". A network connection screen briefly pops up before it fails so it seems the software is just failing to connect to my internet. Overall though, for the price I paid, I'd absolutely recommend this hard drive for anyone that needs the storage space.

I have over 100TB worth of WD drives in my media server. WD has been the most reliable of the spinning disk hard drives I've used over the last 20+ years in PC builds. These drives pop out of their casing and you can use them as desktop drives, as long as your power supply doesn't send 3.3V to the SATA power connector, but it's a quick fix if it does. They are white-labeled WD RED drives. If you happened to need a warranty replacement through WD, look up the "1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act" before filling. Good luck and shucc!

So far so good. Ample storage space available. Been using it about 4 months now and no issues, Easy to setup. I store 8K and 4 K video files on this.

large capacity. dirt cheap. reliable. What else do you need for mass storage?

Awesome 14tb hard drive, great value. I have not had any issues so far, easy to set ip and partition.

Silent. GREAT price. I was looking for 8-10TB but this was on sale for less than 8TB. Love it so far. Seems fast. It is silent. I've had some drive that make LOTS of noise. None yet.

lots of space, obviously. quiet. cabling (data & power supply) seems fine. slow*. *it is slow - because /i/ only have USB 2.0. that's not a negative, because it is expected (with my equipment). tried it on two other USB 3.0 equipped machines, & while faster there, still relatively slow. (in this case, i would have /expected/ better, but then i don't really know what to have expected.) when/if i get the occasion to test on a USB 3.2 equipped computer, i would /hope/ to see better throughput compared to what i've seen so far. (i did run a full, very time consuming, ~18 hours [western digital] check on the drive & it checked out OK.) that said, so long as it is reliable (remains to be seen), i'll take reliability over speed any day. to date, i've only backed up to it, & as it was, the backing up ran pretty much continuously, so all the time it was connected it was running. IOW, i have not had it sitting, idling on my computer, so not sure if the drive spins down when inactive, nor how long before it ramps up when accessed.

If you are like me and looking for reliable storage with massive space look no further than this great performing drive. This drive has very dependable and quiet perfect. I have stored everything from my video catalog, music catalog and photos as well with great results for quick read and write access. This drive is a beast with low outer profile dimensions that will fit almost configuration.

I've been using Western Digital hard drives (internal and external) for over 25 years. They are very dependable. I've not had one die on me yet. I just upgrade to larger storage capacity as needed. This drive is no different.
