But then read some reviews and found out what to do format it and it didn't work then but didn't get mad just turn everything off unplug start process again and then it worked. So it was me user error I love this thing works like a charm. Bought it for my PS 4 by the way to back up extra games.

It's your basic external hard drive that is essentially plug and play. Of course there are a bunch of apps that one can choose to use, however for what I need it for I haven't used them. It's stores an image-copy of my hard drive without a problem. I recommend to use a cloud saving device for files like documents, pics, and music, plus this for saving all other information on your hard-drive in case of error.

Hi, Bought this item and bring home back in philippines, but when I open and tried to use as my back up. there was an error. It was more than 15 days already so I dont think bestbuy will accept the device. It was frustrating, it was on sale but o didnt use it! so it's soo expensive for 25usd! a useless device and I throw my $$!

I connected the brand new drive to my MacBook Pro, it prompted the "time machine" wizard to connect to and set up the drive. I pressed yes, (to the prompt, 'use this drive for back up", then on the next menu, all I entered was the name of the new drive and enter. Then the comp went to go through the set up process, only to stop shortly after starting the process, and giving me an error message that the drive was all of a sudden unreadable, full, and corrupted. Its totally locked up and unusable. terrible experience w/ this product. Im contacting WD to ask for help to fix it, but will most likely return it and get a better version.
