Very nice! Easy to keep backing up data and easy to retrieve. Worth the money

I bought this external HDD to back up photos and music and transfer them from my older computer to a newer one. The pre-installed software would not work on my older computer, but I was able to manually copy+paste the folders onto the drive and onto my new computer without incident. The drive is very compact and is very fast. It was an even better purchase thanks to the Best Buy credit I had.

Simple as it gets, plug it in and you have 1TB of storage. No frills, just a simple drive. I was told by the sales person it would work just like a flash drive, but does not support flash protocol.

Just what I needed to transfer my files and free up space on my computer.

Bought this to store photos/videos from my phone. Has more than enough storage for this application. I've had several other WD external hard drives and they all perform flawlessly.

Title says it all. Bought a 500GB PS4 some years ago thinking that it would have enough storage for me to not have to worry about it too much since I had only barely just filled up the exact same size hard drive on my PS3 right there at the very end of its time with me before I rehomed it with someone else who would use it more and not let it sit idle and useless like I had been doing after getting the PS4, and even though the drive on the PS3 was just barely under being at full capacity, it had several games still installed on it that I had not played in quite a while and that I also did not really plan to play probably ever again to be honest. With that in mind, as well as the fact that my gaming days have slowing down pretty drastically ever since around about the time I had settled on the choice to move on to the next gen console, I decided to go the cheap route and save a few bucks by getting the PS4 with the smaller drive so I could use the money I saved towards getting the few games I wanted most and knew for a fact I would play. Things were fine at first, but after about the time I had finished installing somewhere around 6-7 games as well as all the apps I wanted/needed, I realized my mistake, but I stubbornly stuck to my decision and continued to march on having to live with the inconvenience of having to go through my hard drive and deleting/uninstalling things whenever I got a new game I wanted to play. Then I got fed up with it all one day and started the hunt for how I would solve my problem. After reading articles and how to pages, I figured that at this stage in the lifespan of the PS4 that an external drive was the best option for me since I could take it to the next console I get with a little memory wiping and possibly reformatting and I’d be good to go. As for the drive itself, it’s exactly what I wanted. It’s fast, compact, reliable, good warranty, and above all else it is also both a great value for your dollar since it’s got what you would need while still being very inexpensive and it’s also just a plain bare bones drive without all the fancy bells and whistles that would just add to the cost. Overall, I’d give it an A, maybe an A- at the least since it only has 2 year warranty whereas some of the other WD drive come with 3 years. But that’s just me nitpicking.

The quality and storage capabilities was what I needed and wanted in my arsenal. I also like the fact that it's portable and can travel easy.

I was able to duplicate several hundred gigabites of valuable video files from my desktop computer to the external hard drive, no interruptions, no problems. Very satisfied with purchase, less costly than other 1TB external drives, Bob Brown

The setup is good. The plug-and-play is great too. I am currently using it to store class materials, assignments, and other documents in the small HD. One thing is that my old laptop cannot read it. The devices that could read it are the school laptop, my personal Chromebook, and an office pc. Overall, it is good, and it is not perfect.

Great and easy product to use. I bough it to transfer some pictures from a Computer to other one and the transfer speed is really great

I use this as a DVR for my Tablo Device at home, it works great, holds a ton of stored video and is reliable.

I would've given this hard drive a five star if it wasn't for one flaw. The box says it's compatible with Windows 10 but if you read the side of the box it says it's also compatible with Windows 7 which is what I have and didn't work with my HP laptop. Now I bought this to backup my Samsung edge 7 media files and it worked like a breeze. The phone was able to format the hard drive in a second, my laptop couldn't do that and it transfered almost a 4500 media files in less than 5 minutes. I was impressed to how quickly it did that. Unfortunately I have to find another way to backup my windows 7 media files. Great purchase overall.

I bought this to use for MacBook Air. It’s easy to set up and great to use. So far, so good. Always eject it before unplugging. I made that mistake and almost lost all of my files..
