Nice drive for my storage needs. It is the second drive I purchased and I plan to buy another soon.

Lots of storage at a good price. I can consolidate files from serveral older disks onto this drive.

I am sure those of you who get one of these bad boys have a lot going on...hopefully legal! Well, I will keep this short, this external hard drive works great, I used it to back up some servers and files from work. Honestly, 20 tb is excessive but the more the merrier! This does have an external power supply so make sure you have some power available for that. Also note that transfer speeds are slower due to this being a HDD.

This has to do with Best Buy's handling of the drive not the drive itself. I ordered one of two drives for delivery because they only had one in stock. The drive came on Nov 25, 2024, but the outside box was badly damaged. The HARD DRIVE was shipped from Best Buy in the original Western Digital box, with no other packaging or enclosing box. I spent more than 30 minutes with an online rep discussing this damaged item the night it arrived. They told me to return the drive to a store and to take the online chat transcript with me for approval for the return if there was any issue, as it had an active case number. I returned the drive to the Round Rock, TX, store during the day on Nov 26. The woman I worked with said that I would receive a receipt in email for the return. I waited and today [12-03-2024], I still don't have an email. My Best Buy account shows no return and no credit for a returned drive. I called the online Customer Support, and spent more than 15 minutes on hold before speaking with someone who was very difficult to understand due to broken English. They said that I have to contact the local store even though I bought the item online. I tried calling the local store, and after more than 10 minutes on hold I got someone speaking in a foreign language [Indian I think] that did not answer when I repeatedly said, 'Hello'. I returned the Hard Drive to the Best Buy in Round Rock after it arrived at my home with a very badly damaged outside box. I spent more than 30 minutes with online chat help that night and have a transcript from that chat, which I took along with a printed barcode for the return to the Round Rock store the next day. A woman helped me at the customer service counter, and she refused to scan my paper with the barcode instead saying that she found my account to take the return back. She didn't give me a receipt instead saying that I would receive an email receipt. Looking at my account this evening I see that I have no credit for that return, and I have no email receipt either. The return was performed on Nov 26 during the day. I have tried calling the local store multiple times, but have spent almost an hour on hold between the various attempts. I have put in a dispute with CITI bank, the financial carrier for the Best Buy card. It truly feels like the store has stolen from me, by not doing what they said they would do and not answering any kinds of phone calls, in addition to the online customer support not being able to help at all with this. I will never have anything from Best Buy for shipping again. I will demand a receipt when returning anything to them again. Horrible experience, and it seems that certain stores, like the Round Rock one, are worse for bad customer service than others.

I got this drive on sale from bestbuy.com and it was great value. However, it makes loud, grinding noises when it's being written to. And unlike other sites, Best Buy wants me to come in for a replacement instead of letting me do it online, I'll be visiting the store to return it instead.

Works well. Gives me good transfer speeds and provides massive storage at a reasonable price.

Great external hard drive. A little loud at times when its working hard but it does the job and since it was on sale it came out to around $19/TB which is a really good deal.
