I had an older laptop that had the original SATA drive and my boot up was taking longer and longer. I let my wife use it and she also complained and she ordered me WD easystore to see if just upgrading my drive would help. The installation and set up was very easy. I would recommend you ensure your laptop BIOS are updaed. Once I completed the cloning of the drive, and my first startup was really fast. I was really supprised so, powered it down and turned it on again and zoom my OS is loaded!. I did it 4 more times just to make sure I was not dreaming. Even though the laptop is getting close to 5 years with the WD 5 year warranty this laptop this is the last drive update this laptop will ever need. Thanks Best Buy and WD! You've allowed me to keep my laptop humming.

240GB, SATA SSD, Solid State Drive recommended by Geek Squad associate as a replacement for five year old original hard drive which was beginning to run slowly and freezing. After doing my own research about hard drives I agreed with the tech associate. Based upon my past useage, the associate selected the appropriate hard drive (not the most expensive) and performed the installation. The installation was performed efficiently and timely. The PC is now functioning like new!

If you're looking for a cost-effective way to step into the modern age of storage, then this is one of the best drives to do so with! Toss out that old, slow hard drive (don't do that, they're still good for mass storage) and go down to your local electronics retailer and buy one of these! I bought mine to put into an external enclosure and it even makes for a good portable SSD! You won't regret buying this drive!

Very fast reliable dependable good and small light

It was the least expensive SSD on hand at the store. WD is usually my second choice after Samsung SSDs. I put this in an old 3rd gen i3 Asus laptop. Finding a free cloning software was the hardest part. It booted first attempt and has flawlesly everytime afterwards. Paired it with an 8GB stick of PNY DDR3. Turned an old laptop into a sports car.

I got 2 of this SSD because I was trying to set up an external memory for my PS4 and Xbox One X to load games a bit more faster. And they did not disappoint. Games do load faster. A 40% faster. From 1 minute to almost 35 seconds is a blast. Besides the price is really good for what I needed them for. So no complains there.

A good reliable, runs cool, fast SSD. Maybe not as fast as the higher end drives, but a great buy at this price point. WD also includes downloadable firmware update and diagnostic software.

This is an affordable and easy way to revitalize an old sluggish laptop. After swapping the old hard drive for this SSD its like having a brand new laptop. Much faster and responsive then when the laptop was new. Highly recommended for extending the life of an older device.

Installing this very reasonably priced solid state drive into my seven-year-old desktop, which was top of the line then but had slowed down tremendously, has given it almost brand new life as far as read and write speeds go compared to the old mechanical hard disk Drive. This small little upgrade saved me hundreds of dollars where I did not need to spend. The included software download is ample for moving over your current hard drive information From your old hard drive to the solid-state drive. Just make sure you have an extra SATA cable or use the optical drive SATA cable like I did. Now I can use my hard disk drive as a back up drive. Although I would maybe recommend getting a larger capacity western digital SSD.

After some ups and downs with SSD's after they were first introduced, Western Digital has now delivered a great SSD that is so easy to configure and install and has a great reparation for endurance and long life. I have tested the speed for read and write and for the average computer user, the speed is remarkable. Highly recommended.

These are great SSDs for standard users. I have installed about 15 of these drives. All installs were upgrades for standard users. They are fast enough, and reliable. All users have been very happy with the speed increase. Add that in with the price, and this gets 5 stars. *240GB version review

Got this SSD for a very old (2009) HP laptop I had been using for a media center for our bedroom tv. The old harddrive died and this was an excellent replacement for my use. We are running Arch Linux so even though the lappy is old she is very snappy with this SSD.

Lighting fast compared to a standard HDD! This makes PC's that are a few years old run faster than new if you have a standard HDD in them. I put this in a 4 year old i5 PC and after installing the OS, the boot time ended up being less than 10 seconds!
