Item works and came packaged well, but has several flaws inherently - the lack of a SATA connection means data recovery is far more cumbersome and costly if the drive fails, and WD drives are notorious for the 'click of death'. Nonetheless, the lower cost is attractive, and I hope this drive doesn't meet the fate my older drive did.

Needed to replace my old 2TB external hard drive and was pleasantly surprised at how much smaller this 5TB hard drive is. So much easier to fit on my desk! Also doesn't need to be powered like the previous one, so much more travel friendly. Functionality is exactly as one would expect from a hard drive.

This is the typically perfect WD drive. Compact, no external supply, no moving parts as far as I can tell. My only reservation is that the supplied usb cable could have been about 18 inches longer. Whatever, for a drive of this superior quality I'll gladly buy another cable. Western Digital rocks!

I have a few of these also the Black gaming one. They are excellent for what they are and how cheap they can be on sale. Haven't had a problem with them yet. They might be a little on the slow side but if you're using it for backing up or something you don't really need to pay attention to they are fine. after all 4-5TB can be had for under $100. if you need speed spend more money. Also, Best Buy makes it so easy. just buy it online and it's at your door in no time flat. thanks BB!

Definitely works as advertised. I highly recommend this product.

Purchased this for my husband for Father's Day. It is very compact. It was very easy to use, just plug into his xbox and go. It stores all of the games he wanted to download with so much room to spare.

I love these WD Easystore external drives. I have 3 - one of them I use to extend my Sony PS4 and works great. The others I use to backup my PC. I've had 2 of them for years now and have had no issues.

My old 4 TB EasyStore died and needed a quick replacement, and this was a perfect upgrade. I really like that it doesn’t need external power.

Worked well for my bfs new ps5. He picked it out i just paid lol for xmas. So he can download his games on it but if he want to play a game he has to move it to thw play station. I feel the ps5 needing an external hard drive and this issue of having to move games back and forth is a major ps5 flaw! But the graphics of the ps5 blow the ps4 away and i dont even game and even I was impressed. I do sit for hours with him and watch him play i just can't for medical reasons ( carpoltunnel)

Wow 5TB I will never run out of memory now! I bought this external hard drive during Black Friday. Wish I would have bought two of them. Love how Best Buy always has great prices plus don’t forget they match prices too! My son is going to be so happy when he opens this during Christmas morning. :)

Works great for computer/laptop back ups & storage!

solid device, works great. Very fast. not solid state, but solid price for a great back up device. I don't use the software program included though it seems to insist you have an account, and I don't.

This was a great buy and is easy to use. The only problem is it keeps asking me permission to do something and that's from the software that was downloaded and no matter how many times I say yes this happens with every time I turn my computer on.

Have bought many of these drives over the years. WD USB drives last a long time provided they are taken care of. These aren't rugged. Great price for the TB.

WD Easystore 5TB External USB is an outstanding portable hard drive. The product is one of the best and the price for this was great! This is my 3rd WD portable hard drive and I've never had an issue with this brand.

Love this product for a portable internet option different plans to make it affordable. Used more than 4 devices on the road around the us. Just what we were looking for !

Easy to use and compact . Great for backing things up on a laptop. Not very loud either. Seems pretty durable.
