This is a basic drive -- nothing glitzy and nothing speedy -- but is perfect if you are like me and just want a large drive for saving video and data backups. I liked it enough I bought a second one after I got this one. I appreciate that it is bus powered, which means your computer will give it all the power it needs. Its compact size is perfect so that I can carry it with me to transport large video editing projects between my home and office; its mammoth capacity means I can use it for video storage _and_ also Time Machine backups on my Mac (I reformatted it to APFS). I just recommended this drive to a friend who asked for my opinion on a good drive and then thought I'd take my recommendation and share it here, too.

This is perfect for backing up your Laptop, PC, or photos when you run out of storage on the cloud. It is portable, works great, has decent speeds, and very reliable. WD is the king of hard drives!

5TB for under $100 bucks, sold! This this is compact and very reliable. I use it for USB extended storage on PS4. Games are loaded onto this drive and performance is great. It's nice being able to store all my PS Plus games on here.

Love the portable size, memory capacity. It is easy to pack and carry and is quick to load up on my MacBook Pro. I have tried several brands but these guys have the best product at the best price.

WD is one of the oldest companies in the drive/ storage business. I was happy to find this 5TB storage. Price was easy to take. The drive works perfectly. I use it for backups of everything. I unloaded the software that came with it. That was a great option. It had more features than what I needed. Thanks.

This is a great opcion, so lightweight, to much small than I expect, great performance, and pretty good price, so in general this was a good purchase and was the best option to my son

Bought to backup old laptop before I transitioned to new laptop. More than enough capacity to handle everything and I can bring in old files as needed to new laptop.

Super easy to set up, small footprint, fast and reliable. This is my second purchase of this drive series. I have a 4 and 5 TB version. Love the way they work. I store photos on them for work.

A really great hard drive for my PC. I have loaded like 25 games in it and hardly moved the needle. Makes for great storage of any and all files. Extremely easy to use. Jack it in to your USB 3 and it works ! !

Got this unit to replace a backup drive that had less capacity in a much larger package. So far it's been a great purchase, a great value. Of course it's not a solid state drive, so not quite as speedy as might be ideal (occasional short lags when opening a folder, for instance), but can't beat the price. It's very quiet as well, unlike a lot of hard drive units. Be aware that, as with most all advertised drives, the claimed capacity is in trillions of bytes, not true terabytes (1 TB = ‭1,073,741,824‬ bytes). So it's advertised as 5 TB, but technically it's about 4.6 TB - that's what File Explorer will show as the TB size, for example.

Great little external hard drive. Lots of space and super compact. It's very handy that the power and data transfer cable are one unit, so no keeping track of an additional power source. Easy to travel with.

It's been an excellent drive for backing up my system/data. The USB 3 is pleasingly fast. And, at lesat so far, the drive is reliable. It's size is very convenient. The price was unbeatable.

Purchased this for our son as part of a birthday present / He is real happy to have a place to put all his pics and vids so his system would not be bogged down / I would recommend this product for purchase.

Amazing to get so much storage in a unit the size of a makeup compact. Easy to plug-n-play, then transfer all the files we want to keep safe.

I love how compact it is to art all heavy videos (suck as 4K) and pictures. Very useful and it is what I was lookin for: compact with a tone of space. Easy friendly to use as well, I recommend this product.

Great hard drive. I haven't had any problems with it. Huge capacity, small in physical size, easy to travel with, does exactly what I need it to do.
