Plug it in and it is ready to go. Does not require any prep work. Will be used for weekly backup of several PCs in the home.

Very good hard drive it works very well for me I will buy this product again. I use this to store my old data pictures music and games. I have nothing bad to say about it. I am a fan of western digital

I own sever 4tb and this one is no different. Dependable with tons of storage. Highly recommend hard case to keep it new. A small investment to protect HDD from the elements and possible damage

I picked this up to use on my PS4, then recently swapped it over to my PS5 & it works great! (You can only store PS4 games on this external when connected to the PS5, but it helps keep the PS5’s SSD free.)

This is my third Western Digital external HDD. I have had no trouble with the first two (knock on wood), so I stuck with the same brand. So far, no complaints. Speed is good, price was better. So far, very happy!

Excellent value for the price, huge drive, great for backups and stuff you need to keep but don't want to clog up your computer hard disk with, works as advertised.

Every time I buy one of these I am angry with myself. If you have ever taken them apart, you know why. These are not for people who like to build and or reuse stuff. They are for the investors who own shares in western digital. Not a consumer product. They work though. Just... not as well as they could if it weren't for nefarious steps taken from the manufacturer.

Got this for two reasons: price was great and it was a Best Buy exclusive. I haven't used it yet, but I have a similar sized WD Black Gaming drive and I think this will work just as good when I need it.

This is a great deal for 5TB of storage. We have had good experience with Western Digital products. This is very new, but it is operating as expected.

This was for my Wife so it needed it to be small & durable. It is perfect for her sewing room work to keep a backup of her sewing patterns and machine instructions.

This can be used on a PS5 to store PS4 games for easy play. There was an initial problem with it, that said that it wasn't compatible, but began working after disconnecting and restarting the PS5.

This product to me is a great buy, I am able to back all of my important work and not worry about losing any of my files.

Great external drive that I needed one as my other was filling up with family pictures and videos. With 5 TB it will last me a long time

This is a great portable hard drive. Transfers are pretty fast, not the fastest around but they’re decent. I’m currently using it as a secondary storage for my main computer.

I bought two of the five gig Back up and the cases on the special that was advertised. Was a very good bargain. I have not used them yet. I am always happy when I buy things at Best Buy.

I have used so many of these drives from western digital without any issues so far. This one was a pretty good price for a 5 TB. So far I have used the 1.5 TB, 4 TB, and 5 TB units.

Got this on sale - and it's worked great! I actually have two of these and the first one I've had for 2-3 years with no problems. Great for extra storage for Xbox games/photos.
